"It was immaculate but we have stayed in places advertised as similar ie two bedrooms and bathroom plus en suite toilet and they have all been tha little bit bigger a foot here or there makes all the difference, felt cramped and we are not big people."
Very dark and gloomy, appreciate it was in a wooded gully but felt very oppressive even with the lights on. Immaculate, nicely presented but not for us

"Overall, it was an excellent stay for us."
The Hollies is set in a stunning location with very good facilities. The accommodation is very nicely appointed; we felt very comfortable staying there. Only two issues I would like to mention: 1. On the last 4 days of our stay, the smoke alarm sounded intermittently for no apparent reason, which was a bit of an annoyance. 2. I would have like to have some instruction what to do with food waste. I am used to separating this waste into separate bags and containers but here was no mention of how to handle this.

"The location was great."
So much better than we expected. There was a lot to do in the area and mostly pretty easy to get to. Porthmadog wasn't far for any food shopping . The surrounding beaches were lovely , although one beach wanted £5 just to park. The property was in a forest area which made it feel we were far from anywhere.

"The peace and quiet!"
Very relaxing. Nice touches by the Lodge owner (tea, coffee, cakes etc) and excellent correspondence. Great location to start your hikes from, hardly used the car all week.

"Although the holiday cottage was as described, and fully equipped, the setting was perfect and location was nice and relaxing, we did have an issue with the food outlet which was situated at the top of the hill, we were refused a table, even though the tables were all empty except one, by a lazy looking female member of staff, so while we stayed in the cottage for our break, we never went back to that food outlet, their loss not ours."

"The location was excellent with plenty of interest nearby."
The accommodation was the best we have had and we were well impressed with the provision of equipment. It was as near a home from home as is possible to get. The provision of tea and coffee makings, plus doggie treats, after a 5 hour drive was a nice touch and appreciated. Well done to all who contributed to our very enjoyable stay.

"This property was exactly as described and as pictured, we have had many caravan holidays previously as a family and this by far exceeded previous holiday experiences."
The caravan was spotless, modern, comfortable, quiet and had everything needed for a relaxing stay, right down to washing up liquid and dish cloths. On previous holidays you have to pack everything to be able to even wash up! No need here, a nice touch were the sandwich boxes in the kitchen, you could take your packed lunch out with you for the day. We didn't as we were on holiday and escaping from the daily drudge of making sandwiches! Yes the Wifi can be a bit iffy, but so what, when you are sitting on the veranda relaxing with a glass of something, you do not need it, the peace and tranquillity are just fantastic. The park has some lovely walks in itself to explore, we walked round with our dog and up to the hotel for a drink on the terrace. The property is in a fabulous setting and all the popular tourist spots are close by. We saw lots of wildlife on the park, a nuthatch, woodpecker, birds of prey, an owl, bats and squirrels. You don't see those where we live! The owners were super helpful and friendly and the information and communication between us was spot on. There was even a pack of doggy treats left for our four legged friend and hand sanitiser. Our teen was glad of the hairdryer! Honestly, with the weather we have had lately, you do not need to go abroad when there is so much to see in this beautiful part of the country. We have shared our wonderful stay with friends and family and we hope to return to The Hollies in the not too distant future.

"A real 'home from home'."
Spotlessly clean and a lovely 'hospitality greeting' which was completely unexpected. I have been to other lodges before; this had everything and more. A1

"The caravan is referred to as a lodge, this could be misleading."
The caravan was smaller than expected, TV in the lounge is a challenge, to watch DVDs you need to remove the aerial from the back of the TV to put in a scart lead, extremely difficult since the TV is wall mounted, in today’s day and age all DVD players come with hdmi connection. This would cost little money to upgrade the TV set up.
The caravan did have an odour of dogs to be honest, hence many air fresheners around the caravan.
We had a lovely time and the park is in a great setting, would I recommend the caravan, yes probably if the little issues could be improved, canopy on the caravan is an added plus.

"I wouldn't describe the property as a lodge."
Caravan would be a more accurate description. It was cramped and uncomfortable, particularly the bed and seating area. Worst of all, however, was the strong smell of dog. We tried to vacuum the carpets but that made the smell even worse. We also had to wash the crockery and cutlery before we could use them. Parking was a bit of a challenge as there isn't a great deal of turning space. The one compensation was the location in a woodland setting. I would stay at this park again but not in this particular property.
