  • "The lodge was beautiful."

Very spacious had a brautiful view and could not fault it. The site was very quiet and well maintained. The groundmen were lovely and the other visitors made you feel at home. We would recomend your cabin and the site to friends and family. It was near to our favorite town Llandudno and within easy reach to other villages we had not been to. Thank you for a lovely experiance

Many thanks for your lovely comments. We'd be delighted to have your friends and family stay with us, so thank you for the recommendation! And we've passed your compliments on to the site staff, who do a great job keeping it so nice and tidy. :) Property Owner

  • "After many fantastic holidays in Sykes Cottages, I am disappointed to be submitting a negative review."

However, I feel it’s important to state the facts so other families in our situation are not left disappointed. We booked this holiday after searching through the Sykes filter for properties will pools. My sons love swimming, so the heated pool was a major factor alongside the wonderful countryside and beaches of North Wales. Unfortunately, on the evening of arrival we discovered the advertised ‘heated’ outdoor pool was freezing cold and unfit to swim in for more than few minutes. We reported this to the park reception and was informed that the broken piping was on order, and they would fix it over the next few days. It was fixed on the day that we left. On reporting this to Sykes, we were informed that the parts were on order and 20 degrees was plenty warm enough to swim in. My shivering 7 and 9 year boys confirmed that it was not. When I tried to resolve this with Skyes I was reprimanded for charging my electric car at the lodge and informed it was a fire hazard. No where in the site rules or Skyes description was it made clear that electric cars cannot be charged on site. They even had a charge point behind reception. Access to the charge point was not offered as an alternative. We paid 3 times the normal fee to book this property in the school holidays. I would expect all the facilities to be available and in good working order. Correspondence from Sykes stated: We do appreciate the inconvenience you faced when you found the swimming pool to be unavailable. The owner made it possible for you to use a hot tub as an alternative. The access to a hot tub, for one evening, does not compensate for a week’s missed swimming. Really disappointed.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. This is the only critical review we’ve had, but we’re sorry you were disappointed with aspects of your stay at our lodge. Your first point relates to the issue with the pool heating, which unfortunately was something beyond our own control. Whilst it is regrettable that the pool was not heated to its usual temperature, exacerbated by the very cold weather, the Sanctuary Park team worked hard to get the problem remedied as soon as possible. Our understanding is that the Sanctuary offered you use of a hot tub in the lodge opposite, until the pool heating was fixed, although unfortunately this did take longer than they expected. You also refer to electric car charging. As a point of fire safety for you, your family and for other park owners/users, we requested that you cease charging your vehicle from an extension cord, plugged into an internal lodge socket. Neither we, nor the Sanctuary Park, advertise car charging points as a service, so we were surprised you assumed this would be the case, without prior clarification. Charging of electric vehicles is not permitted and is not covered by our insurance. We’ve taken your comments on board and asked Sykes to make this explicitly clear on our lodge information page. Finally, our lodge pricing is managed by Sykes Cottages which uses an algorithm to set prices on a week-by-week basis. Our rates are therefore related to dynamic supply and demand calculations, which are professionally managed. These do thus reflect price differentials seen during school holiday periods, which is the case with all other holiday properties, both in this country and abroad. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful lodge with lovely surroundings."

The lodge was kitted out with everything you need, especially in the kitchen. Outside they had very comfortable chair and we enjoyed eating outside or just sitting and reading. The lodge was very clean on arrival and the beds were very comfortable. It was very quiet not many people there, we loved having the swimming pool to ourselves on most days. Everyone is very friendly from the ground staff to the people staying in the lodges. Waving out to you as you passed. Took us a while to figure out how to get out and made a few wrong turns but soon figured it out. Might be helpful if they had exit signs. I know the area well as my family used to live in Pwllheli, the beaches are amazing and only a short drive away from the lodge. Highly recommend stay if you like comfort and peacefulness which is just what we needed.

Many thanks for your detailed feedback. We’re really pleased you enjoyed your stay at the lodge and park. :) Property Owner

  • "Lovely lodge on a quite park."

We had a lovely family holiday with grandchildren and our dogs. Lots of walks on the beaches. We had a click and collect slot for Asda for our shopping which is not far from the lodge.

We're really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Many thanks for the feedback, and for the helpful tip! Property Owner

  • "The lodge was lovely my only gripe would be the settee back was too low for me but other than that it was fantastic and would book again."

Many thanks for your feedback, which we greatly appreciate. We're very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, and we'd look forward to having you visit us again. The lodge came fully furnished when we purchased it and the settee seems to be standard in all Oslo Lodges. But we'll certainly take your comments on board when it's time to replace the furniture. Thanks again for staying with us and for taking the time to send us feedback. Property Owner
