  • "Lovely property, unfortunately wrong time of year weather wise, would be lovely in the summer."

cottage very nice rearly homely. shame about the ants in the kitchen, couldn't use the ant powder provided as it would not be good for my dog. was forced to use the top of the fridge as a worktop. other than that very comfortable and lovely gardens.

  • "Absolutely brilliant cottage, lovely touches such as dressing the table for Xmas dinner, turning beds back which was very thoughtful, stunning cottage and surroundings, absolutely loved this place, only issue was with TV remote didn’t work as in previous reviews, former customer left kind message how to access app to use phone as remote but didn’t work, ran around looking for a replacement remote in end owner changed tv, so ended up ok, would not stop me visiting here again was truly beautiful postcode didn’t get us there had to ask locals as the sign to turn off at Drofa was covered by hedge but found eventually wouldn’t recommend going in dark as we did and was difficult ended up knocking on a couple of doors people so friendly so all good."

Still wouldn’t stop us going back

  • "This was our second stay at Garden Cottage."

It’s a beautiful secluded and cosy place, with a lovely big garden surrounded by woodland - perfect! We love the peace and quiet here, lots of birdsong and the occasional fast jet from Anglesey overhead which is always exciting. I enjoyed exploring the woodland with my camera and a walk down to the lake along the long driveway was very pleasant. A little disappointed to find the DVD player has been removed, but there are plenty of options on the TV - Netflix and Amazon are available if you have an account. The only minor issue we encountered was that the TV remote control wasn’t working - there was a note to advise trying to use an app, which we did - and which worked for us. However if the internet goes down (which it did, briefly) and you weren’t technically ‘savvy’ to be able to find and download the app and/or reset the internet, you may find yourself without TV. Not sure if it was just a case of none of the various batteries working or if it’s a problem with the remote itself, but worth a mention. We had a wonderful time, though, and everything else was great - a well-appointed cottage with everything you could need. The location is great for getting out and exploring the beautiful Llyn Peninsula and Snowdonia areas. Beaches are wonderful, and there are some lovely little towns nearby. We will definitely be back. Love this little cottage!

  • "We have just got back from our stay at Garden Cottage- it was an absolutely fabulous holiday."

Firstly the cottage itself is magical, it gives you a big hug as you walk in, we had everything we needed, it is such a special place, we woke every morning to the idyllic garden view. Secondly the garden is perfect set in enormous grounds that are like something from the book The Secret Garden, lots of lovely nooks and crannies and huge areas where we played games. And thirdly the location of the cottage was also perfect, lots of lovely walks close by and only a 20 min drive from most beaches (The Ty Coch inn and beach is worth a visit) we all loved our stay. The only downfall for this cottage is that we had to leave. We will definitely be back

  • "Left negative comments on the table e."

G.shower slow draining; rad in upstairs bed. leaking; curtains need rehanging in several rooms; portmeirion crockery good but several pieces had cracks in them; no instructions with washing mach.or dishwasher. Advertised as having a tumble dryer but I failed to find it. As we were there for the National Eisteddfod it was used mainly as a place to sleep, I would not be very happy to be there as my main holiday especially if it was wet. However the beds were very comfortable and I slept like a log. I have a feeling that the owner employs a cleaner who does not do a very good job e.g. does not check bulbs every week or check behind doors where we found a towel left by the previous occupants.

. as soon as we arrived we were struck by the location and beauty! Bliss not too far to drive to town or to a shop and lovely walks on the estate. Owner popped over and introduced himself said of the we needed anything he’s at hand! Beds are the most comfortable I think we’ve ever slept in! Only thing I would say is if you don’t like spiders or moths .. perhaps not for you, I’m not the biggest fan but could cope as they are more or less everywhere .. maybe our fault for leaving windows open, but I think the house could do with a very good deep clean Overall wonderful location and very relaxing break away

It is suffering from lack of care, overflowing drain, light bulbs not working, tv remote needed batteries, no spares. Freezers iced up. Cobwebs in corners. Sink plug not sealing. To top it all, we had to share the private garden wirh a gardener in the afternoons, which upset the dogs. Hiwever, we still had a lovely time.

  • "We had a very enjoyable week at Garden Cottage but feel that customer feedback has not been used to improve future stays."

As mentioned in previous reviews there were cobwebs throughout the house and there was no anti slip mat in the shower which had also been brought up by a previous customer. The basic facilities were all there but it lacked the little touches that make a stay memorable for all the right reasons. The ‘get you in’ information was very brief and there was no mention of how to connect to the WiFi. My husband who is very good at these things had to find the router to locate the password. The fire had not been cleaned out and we had to buy our own kindling, firefighters and matches having cleaned out the fire first. There was only 1 piece of wood in the log basket and it was too long to fit in the fire. There was only enough loo roll for a couple of days and no spare in the bathroom cabinet so again we had to buy more to replenish stocks. Jonathan was very prompt in coming over to help fix the smoke detector which was beeping every 45 seconds for the first night and there was no heating on. Having read in the instructions not to touch the heating controls we spent the first night in the cold but once sorted, the cottage was lovely & cosy. The grass was kept cut in the garden but the rest of it looked very messy and unkempt. Overall we had a good week staying at the cottage but just felt that whoever cleans out the house in between guests should have a checklist to go through to ensure everything is as good as it can be for the next visitors.

  • "I think you should draw the customers attention to the step into the downstairs bathroom."

Maybe a rail to hold onto, maybe a little ramp? Also the shower tray was very slippery. I had to clean it and ended up buying a shower mat, so that i didn't fall over! The shower drain was also blocked. Maybe because of lack of use? I luckily took my portable grab rails as I have limited mobility, so maybe you could put a rail or two in the shower cubicle? Finally the outside light wasn't working. I liked the fact was dark, but I think a little outside light would be very helpful? Thank you. I hope to come back in the future? Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Thank you for your comments and I am pleased that you had a wonderful stay. Fortunately you brought your own extra grab rails and therefore alleviated any problem. I have since checked the shower drain too and all is clear. I will in future on your recommendation provide a shower mat too. The out side light works on a sensor and I will have an electrician coming to do some other works so I will ask him to make some improvements/ adjustments to the lighting. The Daffodils Crocuses and Snowdrops that surround the property at this time year are there for your and other guests enjoyment and not for digging up and removal by guests! There were some Snowdrops in plastic bags outside the door I understand from my Gardener who you also reported the small 1 inch step too. Property Owner

There were numerous cobwebs in living room, bedrooms and shower room. The 3 piece suite gave no support but the beds very comfortable. Issues with the heating where resolved but better instructions would help.

  • "The cottage needs a lot of cleaning and maintenance."

Half a toilet roll in one bathroom, no hand soaps in any. Windows with no latches and panes broken. Had to walk around in shoes as floors filthy. Cobwebs everywhere. Damp up most walls have not been treated, so our clothes all smelt very musty. Downstairs bedrooms smells so bad of damp. Stayed in rose cottage weeks before and that one is even worse with stains up the walls etc so it’s clear no money or maintenance is done/spent on these cottages
