The property

This delightful detached converted barn rests just a stone’s throw from the village of Ruyton-XI-Towns.

Upon entering there’s a spacious light filled hallway, on your left is the welcoming sitting room, dotted with antique features whilst offering comfortable seating, where you can relax and watch TV/DVDs on the sofa in front of the woodburner stove.

In the summer throw open the French doors to enjoy the garden.

Either side of the fire are book cases housing a selection of books and games for your enjoyment.

Through the sitting room is the large bedroom with king size bed, decorated with peace and comfort in mind.

There’s a large built-in wardrobe and windows that overlook the garden; and a handy en suite w.c and basin.

On the other side of the hallway is a light and fresh shower room which benefits from a large walk-in shower, basin and w.c.

For more formal meals head into the dining room or use the table for board games and jigsaw puzzles.

Through the dining room is the well-appointed kitchen which exudes charm as it’s lined with duck egg blue units, pleasantly matched with quarry tiles and a delightful table for two.

Off the kitchen there is a small larder and also a separate utility room.

From the kitchen step-out into the walled garden, with table, chairs and umbrella, there are also two garden benches on wish to relax and run around.

A couple of short miles away is the lovely village of Ruyton-XI-Towns, with a small shop and pub and resting in an ideal spot for touring this beautiful location.

As well as soothing walking and cycling country abounding in the area, you can easily find the stunning market towns of Oswestry and Shrewsbury, both offer much to see and do with their attractive architecture, fine pubs and eateries and a choice of attractions.

Alternatively, cross the border into Mid and North Wales, with the popular town of Llangollen well worth a visit.

About the location

Oswestry 9 miles; Shrewsbury 12 miles.

Ruyton-XI-Towns takes its unusual name from a 12th century castle which was the manor of eleven local townships. Many of those townships still survive as villages today with Ruyton, Wykey and Felton being the most prominent. Baschurch is a large village near to Ruyton and is home to a village pub and shop. The ancient border market town of Oswestry is just a few miles away and has a selection of restaurants and all usual amenities along with its extensive and well preserved hill top Iron Age fort which is great for walking and views. Historic houses and castles with beautiful grounds locally include Chirk and Powis Castle, Erddig and Attingham Park. Shrewsbury is 12 miles away and is set within a giant loop of the River Severn. It is one of England's finest heritage towns with over 600 listed buildings. Explore the picturesque cobbled alleys and squares or enjoy some of the events and festivals that take place each year, particularly Shrewsbury's 'Summer Season' which caters for every age and interest. The town offers a superb selection of independent and high street shops, along with plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants and pubs.
