  • "We loved the location and grounds."

The property itself was comfortable enough but was grubby on arrival. Surfaces had to be scrubbed clean, there was a dog biscuit on the floor and a live wood louse under the sink. There was also a full glass dish of water under the sink, presumably for a dog of the previous occupants. My bedroom wardrobe was half filled with clothes from the previous occupants. If I had paid a security deposit it would have been forfeited had I left the property in this condition. The landlord was friendly enough and apologised for the cleaners but this is a Sykes branded property and I could not recommend it on this experience.

  • "Absolutely beautiful cottage - the grounds are amazing and would highly recommend to anyone (just not too much though, as I want to make sure that there is space for us next year!"

) the property that we chose was perfect for 2 adults and 1 3month old, however there are other properties that would suit larger parties for fair prices. We will be back!

  • "Absolutely lovely setting."

The cottage was quirky and unusual as you would expect from such an old building. If only walls could talk!! Wonderful grounds to stroll through, so peaceful. Paul the owner has a real passion for this, his childhood home, giving us a guided tour of the main hall one evening. He has a real eye for detail creating a marvellous venue for a wedding.

  • "If like us you love birds, woodland walks, river walks, wild flowers, beautiful grounds, lovely old stone walls covered in furry moss, this place is truly inspirational."

Cottage is 500 yrs old, with lovely built in fittings, not modern but done by craftsman. Would love to afford a wedding hear. Do have to keep dogs on lead and young children with you because of steep drops. Lovely tumbling water falls as well. Will be great when it is all accessible.

  • "The place was stunning."

The walks in the woods and around the hall beautiful. The cottage had everything stated but usually there would be some salt pepper etc. The people running and managing the estate were friendly and helpful. There were peacocks duck's and chicken's and eggs were plentiful. Our dog could not just go in and out on her own because of the peacocks etc. Not for small children as some steep drops and running water. All in all a pleasant stay.

  • "Really beautiful cottage and grounds."

The only drawback is that it is listed as having wifi. The wifi is in the main house across a courtyard . It was advertised as having wifi but the only place you cud get it is on a windowledge on the first floor with the window open and that was very erratic.
