  • "Cosy, characterful, comfortable and spacious accommodation in a secluded and picturesque setting."

    The cottage was warmly heated throughout a cold week in March; the kitchen was well-equipped and the whole environment was relaxed and peaceful. Bathroom fittings clean and functional, but could do with modernisation (which is apparently planned).

  • "Lovely position, the gardens needed a bit of tlc, the fools forest was beautiful with the river flowing over rocks at the forest floor, the owner paul and Alicia made us very welcome, bit sad we never got to view Talhenbont hall!"

    !, WHAT A FANTASTIC LOCATION will definitely be going back. we also appreciated the eggs from the chickens , and ducks and peacocks that we fed everyday, was easy to find in a gorgeous part of wales. my dog lexi enjoyed every day , the walks the excitement of exploring and new smells she loved it too.

  • "The Conifers is in a great location situated in the grounds of Talhenbont Hall."

    We had full access to the grounds which gave us the opportunity for some lovely walks. It's a paradise for anyone seeking stress free relaxation. The owners of the property were friendly and made us feel very welcome, we were also given an inteteresting tour of the hall. A wonderful getaway.

    A most comfortable, cosy and charming place set in the most stunning surroundings. The owner and staff were welcoming and helpful and even gave us a tour of the beautiful Talhenbont Hall, which is not far from conifers and would make the most perfect venue and location for a wedding.

The property

A delightful detached stone-built cottage, dating back 500 years and offering ground floor accommodation.

Situated in the water garden overlooking variegated conifers and shrubs, this delightful cottage is oozing character and charm with high pitched beamed ceilings, exposed stone work and polished slate flooring in the dining area where family meals can be enjoyed together.

The kitchen is well-equipped and the stable door opens to a wooded and shaded courtyard, where you may even get the odd visitor coming to see you.

The sitting room enjoys a large bay window, and a stone fireplace with electric living-flame effect fire which gives it a nice cosy feeling on those cooler evenings.

Two bedrooms, a double which benefits from an en-suite bathroom and a twin room which is serviced by a shower room complete this holiday cottage.

All in all, a comfortable base for a couple or family from which to explore the area.

Talhenbont Hall Country Estate

Criccieth 2 miles. The 75-acre estate of Talhenbont lays in a truly idyllic position in the beautiful unspoilt countryside of the Llyn Peninsula, on the periphery of the Snowdonia National Park and only 2 miles from the pretty seaside village, Criccieth.The Talhenbont estate comprises of an impressive Grade II listed 17th century Manor House and five individual cottages, Bothy Cottage, Gardeners Cottage, Conifers and Woodberry which all enjoy a courtyard position close to the Manor House, whilst Hunting Lodge, the original gate house to the estate stands just within the walled entrance. Each cottage offers something a little different and display some wonderful original character features and attributes such as exposed stone walls, timber beams, oak lintels, slate floors and warming fireplaces with open fires. The cottages, although very different in lay out share one common denominate, clean, comfortable holiday accommodation in a beautiful setting, where you’re sure to receive a warm Welsh welcome from the cottage owner, the estate manager or the resident peacocks!! The Manor House is nothing short of being spectacular with a wonderful display of elegance, original period features, all sympathetically restored and maintained throughout. The Talhenbont estate offers a lot more than just comfortable holiday accommodation to its guests but a unique holiday experience. As well as each cottages enjoying its own private terrace, BBQ and seating area, guests can enjoy the private grounds and gardens of Talhenbont Hall. There are woodland walks along a 1.5-mile stretch of river which runs over a series of waterfalls in a ravine. The river is a designated habitat for otters and provides double bank salmon, sea and brown trout fishing. Guests are free to use the all-weather tennis court and outdoor chess for the adults. The Japanese water garden is a lovely feature and the wildlife and wild birds you’ll see on your travels are in abundance. Guests of all ages enjoy The Quackery, which houses a great variety of rare breeds and birds such as golden pheasant, geese, ducks and of course, the peacocks which roam free and are bound to visit you at your cottage sometime during your stay! All within easy reach of the popular towns of Criccieth, Porthmadog and Abersoch. The seaside resort of Criccieth offers many local amenities including public houses, restaurants, tea rooms and an array of independent shops. Abersoch and Pwllheli are both renowned sailing centres and both offer excellent 18-hole golf courses. Porthmadog is approximately 5 miles from the property and offers excellent shopping facilities and a leisure centre.
