  • "This is the best holiday home we have stayed in for many years."

Owner Ian was on hand to give us a guided tour on arrival. Everything we needed was there. The games room even had me thnking we woud enjoy bad weather days. The view from the garden simply enhanced our stay. It's a great cottage that I would recommend to others.

we were unable to take the bins out to the end of a very very long lane as requested as we had a disabled chap with us that needs 2 staff at all time. i am positive that we left the place much cleaner than we found it as there were dead flies on the window cills and mould in the bottom of the kitchen bin when i removed the bin bag. Though i know old cottages have characters this was was disappointing due to poor hygiene, especially we had to be out early on departure so the owners could clean. I dont think they cleaned before we got there. I don't usually leave bad reviews but feel that i needed on this occasion. Such a shame as a beautiful place for views. many thaanks Jane Gibbons ( team leader)

  • "We had a superb holiday in Bryn Dedwydd farmhouse."

11 of us - 6 adults, 1 teenager, and 4 children under 10, plus 2 dogs. Lovely views, plenty of space, including very well-equipped games room (including an excellent keyboard), PLUS garage with table tennis and darts. Well-equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery/cutlery/glasses. 2 utility rooms! Lovely quiet location but easy to get to walks/Snowdon/Zip world (I did the long zipwire on my 70th birthday!!) Would definitely recommend Bryn Dedwydd and would book again.

  • "The house itself is a lovely size, images are very misleading, garden is not as big as it looks which was disappointing for the children."

Children loved the cows and sheep and loved the two sheep that visited everyday. Nothing is within walking distance and the closet supermarket was over a 20 minute drive away, there was a small shop around 10 minutes away which sold the basics a some lovely cakes etc. Also be warned of the country lanes and hills ! We visited surf snowdonia which is a good day out , but was about 45 minute drive away, zip world nearby also worth a visit, although they are expensive , most activities start at £18 plus and we struggled for things for under 10’s as there were a few things I’m the area closed still due to COVID etc I would highly recommend The Crown Inn pub which is about 15 minutes drive away, lovely place with lovely food and we’re very welcoming , especially to a large group of 12!

  • "Beautiful views from this fabulous cottage."

The games room and table tennis table were a huge bonus and kept us occupied during rainy times. The owner was really helpful and responded quickly to any questions. It is just worth noting that there is a cottage right next door and the surrounding land is all farmland and many of the footpaths marked on OS maps were not actually walkable as they have not been maintained. There are several other very beautiful places to walk nearby though.

We visited with our 7&11 year old son and their grandparents and the house is perfect for all generations. We were never bored with the pool table, football table, ping pong, darts and all the games/books/dvds provided. The house is actually bigger than the photos do justice to. Every room has comfortable clean beds and everyone commented on how well they had slept. It’s a great location for travelling to all three ZIP world locations and Betws y coed is really lovely with some great pubs to visit. Swallow falls water fall is a must. Highly recommended and the owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. 5 out if 5!

It was large enough to accommodate all 11 of us. It had everything we needed, literally home from home. The games room was a hit. All ages enjoyed the games. The pool table, football table, table tennis table and darts were of a high quality which totally makes a difference. The little ones really did enjoy playing the Wii too! The only improvement would be to try and ensure the garden is enclosed. We had two small dogs which really needed a run around but due to livestock in neighboring fields we were unable to let them run around. They would have got over the fence easily. Not having an enclosed garden meant that we had to take it in turns to take the dogs out on the lead. A little bit of fencing would make a huge difference, allowing the dogs to go out safely while we enjoy our time socializing in the cottage. Overall we had a lovely week in North Wales in a lovely cottage.

I booked it for a family 60th birthday celebration and it was very comfortable and well equipped. The games room was a wonderful bonus. The supply of books, dvds and games was a huge plus, as we shared the weekend with Storm Colm which hit Wales particularly hard.. Our party consisted of two dogs and a family member in an electric wheelchair.who needed a downstairs bedroom and a wetroom. I spoke to the owner before we arrived and he explained that although the gf bathroom was a wet room he did not list it as adapted for the disabled.ie it did not have grab rails, a comfort height wc or space for a wheelchair, so we were prepared for that. The wetroom is not large enough to manouver a wheelchair, as explained. The owner kindly left sheets of plywood which enabled us to move the powerchair on the gravel outside, where we loaded into the rear of our car with a hoist, and enabled the powerchair to enter and exit the property, because there is a small step. A manual wheelchair would not need this though. A really beautiful cottage, we had everything we needed and would love to return again.

A perfect getaway. There is another holiday home next to the property which has the name Bryn Dedwydd but we didn`t hear anything from our neighbours. The house is big enough and has enough space with games and activities to take a big family of varying ages without being cramped. there isn`t a tumble dryer and being in the mountains of Wales you can`t guarantee enough sun to dry clothes on the line...luckily we did so it didn`t matter. We all enjoyed the stay and would stay again. P.S. Google maps takes you up from South Wales on a narrow bendy road with gates for the last stretch. It is a fantastic picturesque road that I would normally take anyway out on a drive but if you are in a hurry and light is fading you may want to consider a longer route and come in on the A5. I traveled separately from the rest of the family in my Long wheelbase van and having done this road in the car I went back home through Ysbyty Ifor...another cracking road but wide enough for Vans and caravans.

We slept 7 adults and 4 children with ease. Plenty of parking space. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated throughout with bags of space. The games room had wii, a pool table, table football and loads of games and books; table tennis and darts in the garage.Enough books, dvds, videos, vinyl records and cds to last a month! Excellent dining kitchen, two log burners if needed. We cooked our own meals and didn't need to visit the local pub, about a mile away. The house is very quiet and remote, but the location was ideal for us as we had activities planned for each day. The only niggle was that the outside did not meet the same high standard. The garden was not secure for the children or the dog, in fact sheep were regularly seen grazing (and fouling) the lawned area. Easily rectified I'm sure.

Great short stay in a lovely, comfortable spacious property. Ample fuel provided for the log burners, milk, biscuits, crumpets and jam left for arrival welcome pack was lovely. The only grumble I had which was not to do with the property only the area that there seemed to be a lack of walking suitable for large dogs, the styles were difficult to negotiate and dangerous for my dog as wet, mossy and slippery, after a bit of an accident with a cut dog leg and bump to his head and 2 failed attempts over different styles we had to opt to walk on the road, however if I had been there longer I would have had more time to explore other footpaths, the weather did not help with this pursuit either given it was a wet muddy weekend. Advice on local walks on foot from the property would have been helpful and suitability for large or small dogs, styles, gates etc would be advantageous. On the other hand the games room and entertainment within the farmhouse meant that we did not struggle for things to do to fill the time when we would have gone walking.
