The property lived up to expectations, and more. There is something or somewhere in the house for everyone. The large pool was a favourite for all ages and the different games were all played. I would summarise as well-equipped, comfy and spacious. Thank you Julie! Carol - November 2021

, catering for all ages (from 4 to 70). It far exceeded our expectations. It was huge, so much space, plenty of places for entertainment or just sitting quietly, if needed. We made use of the huge dining room everyday, it was wonderful to all sit and eat together. The games room was our favourite place each evening. The swimming pool was well used too. We all agree, we will be back. Thank you Julie, who was an excellent host, very quick to answer any questions before and during our stay.

  • "We have just returned from a fabulous week at Richmond Hall."

The property and facilities are outstanding. We had a few teething problems with a broken toaster/ice maker/ oven, but the owner did her best to rectify them . The pool and games room we're well used and enjoyed by all. We also had 'Dai Chef' to cook one night for all or guests.....he was outstanding!!!! My only criticism of the property would be a lack of matching crockery/ cutlery/ glasses.

The facilities are excellent - the huge swimming pool being a particular family favourite. The house is well equipped and comfy - places for family to be together and plenty of space to spread out when required. The weather was so glorious we didn't use the games room that much but there was plenty things for all the family to enjoy. Richmond Hall is also well positioned for visiting Conwy castle, Bodnant Gardens and Llandudno as well as longer excursions into Snowdonia. Definitely a place we would love to return!

The house had everything and the games room was great, it was all great. I would 100% recommend this property. The pool and hot tub were wonderful, as was the games room that we spent a lot of time in, even with 16 of us we were able to all hang out together. The only things that stopped this house being perfect were small things, some of the lights didn’t work so it was difficult to light some areas sufficiently, also the main kitchen (while wonderful) could do with some sharper knives and a pair of scissors. We had a brilliant time here and we’d love to come back in the future.

The pool is wonderful and was used several times every day, the jacuzzi deliciously warm, lovely big sauna and a great gym. The games is everything and more as described, The house is huge but so warm and welcoming and the grounds including tennis courts are fabulous. Following an entirely different holiday one of our party brought a small fan heater as in the previous house NOT booked through Sykes we were freezing. Not so at Richmond Hall when we stayed this February the weather was so cold wet and very windy with flurries of sno and hail. Don’t hesitate to book we were as warm as toast no need for any extra heating at all it was wonderful. Julie the owner is wonderful and can’t do enough to help. We had a birthday celebration with giant slot car racing in the drawing room and on another day had a spa day. We held a darts competition and a quiz in the games room and awarded trophies. Really looking forward to returning and huge thanks to Julie. Don’t hesitate to book at any time of year.

About the location

Denbigh 6 miles; Chester 28 miles.

St Asaph, though small, was awarded city status in 2012, even though it boasts a population of little over 3500 occupants. Lying in the Vale of Clwyd, six miles between Denbigh and the coastal town of Rhyl, in North Wales, St Asaph enjoys a strategic location overlooking the rivers Clwyd and Elwy. The city offers delightful riverside parkland and a children’s play area with picturesque river walks where you may see kingfishers, sparrow hawks and buzzards. St Asaph is home to a historic cathedral, dating back 1400 years in areas and holding the reputation of being the smallest, ancient cathedral in Britain. It is also renowned as the location where the Bible was translated into Welsh in the 16th century. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations, culminating for the last few years in a television finale, broadcast from the cathedral. St Asaph offers numerous amenities and activities, from traditional pubs, to gastronomic dining experiences, numerous craft and gift shops and local clubs offering a 9-hole golf course, horse riding, angling, and crown green bowling, as well as a thriving leisure centre and the Tweedmill Retail Outlet. A superb holiday location for exploring this picturesque area of North Wales.
