“Mrs”

Stayed at this very comfortable cottage for a long weekend . A little difficult to find even with directions. A lovely rural location on farm land. The owners live near by and are very friendly . My only issue was that the garden wasnt enclosed which could be a problem for some dog owners as it is open to sheep fields . Would definitely stay at Ty John again as its perfectly situated for exploring Snowdonia and various outdoor attractions.

“Friendly and rural”

More and more narrow roads lead you to this farm in Wales. Spacious with an adequate number of bed- and bathrooms, nice, friendly and very helpful owners. And our grandchildren enjoyed the horses, sheep, dogs and not least the playground. Good for relaxiing, trekking, exploring Wales....

“Very warm, comfortable, well equipped cottage in stunning rural”

The cottage was exactly as described, spacious, warm, comfortable and well equipped. It was in a beautiful scenic and rural situation, down narrow lanes, some way from shops etc. and so peaceful. Surrounded by fields of sheep and horses. The only issue was the description of a pub only a short walk away - it was more than a short walk to the little village. We would repeat the holiday and hope for better weather - it was autumn and very wet for our visit.

“Great stay”

This is a great place for walkers, cyclists and lovers of wild Wales. The mountains are literally minutes away and well off the beaten track. Conwy, Llanwrst and Rowen are a short drive away. The cottage is spacious, well prepared, clean and relaxing. The best thing is the view from the kitchen window, or the walk up to Drum.

“A dream cottage in a beautiful part of Wales”

From the minute we walked into the cottage and my daughter said "Oh, this is nice" we knew we were going to love Ty John. We were 4 adults and twin babies and there was plenty of room. All of the rooms were comfortable and the lounge and dining room in particular were full of character. The cottage is set in beautiful countryside, with horses and sheep in the adjoining field and is ideally situated for visiting the nearby tourist spots. The owners were very friendly and available if needed. The only faults are the difficulty in finding the cottage in the first place; better directions are definitely needed and the cleaners were rather pushy and not overly friendly on the day we left.

“We had a great stay in a wonderful place!”

The house welcomed us, and so did the owners. Very warm welcome, and happy to help us out with our questions. It was great to sit outside and view the hills, the green trees and meadows and hear the silence. It's a good location for seeing North-Wales. Walks can be made from the doorstep. The Dutch Pancakehouse in Rowen and the pub were great extra's to our stay. We loved Conwy as our nearest city - for shops, food and drinks, and the castle, music and more. Llandudno was a treat in itself, so was Great Orme. The cottage was spacious and all necessities were there. There was a great high table to work on, but also a relaxing couch ... so watching television or a DVD was good. Several books and Dvd's were there to use. Again - owners were very very helpful and friendly. We hope to be back soon ...

“Fantastic Holiday”

The cottage was big enough to accomodate six of us comfortably, was well equipped, and was beautifully situated for exploring the area around the Snowden Valley. We felt we were visiting friends as we were made so welcome. Our grandchildren loved being able to stroke the horses, the cats and the dogs. Hopefully we shall return for a further visit some time. Our one criticism was that we had geat difficulty finding the cottage in Rowen as there was nothing to indicate where it actually was and we had to ask directions a couple of times but otherwise it was a wonderful holiday.

Tyn-y-coed Farm Cottages

Rowen 1 mile. Situated within the Snowdonia National Park, this beautiful village stands amidst the tranquil countryside of the lovely Conwy Valley. Steeped in history, the village is well known amongst walkers and ramblers for its charming white washed stone cottages and pretty gardens and for its renowned mountain trail, which climbs to 1400ft following the old Roman road across scenic mountains and moorland, ending at the stunning Aber Falls. Only 4 miles away is delightful Conwy, a World Heritage Site dominated by its splendid castle and completely enclosed in its well-preserved town walls. There's plenty to enjoy in Conwy - the picturesque fishing harbour, Plas Mawr, one of the best preserved medieval town houses in the country, the National Trust's Aberconwy House, Britain's "smallest house" (worth an interesting, if quick, visit!) as well as the town's shops, pubs and restaurants nestling along the narrow and winding streets.
