Did not want for anything. Fantastic location and would highly recommend. Beautiful beaches everywhere and fantastic walks every day.

  • "Trigfa is a lovely little cottage and had everything we needed to make it a great stay."

We loved the homely touches and the fact that there were facilities and a warm sunny room at the back to dry our things due to the inevitable weather. It was very conveniently placed as well in a beautiful part of the country. Thank you for a great stay!

  • "We had a fantastic week in Trigfa - got off to a great start with lovely, friendly communication and a welcome package of local treats and fizz from the owners."

The cottage feels spacious and homely, with well proportioned rooms, plenty of storage, facilities for drying clothes from being in the sea etc and everything you need for self catering. The beds were comfortable. It's only a few minutes drive out of Abersoch and has a real rural, peaceful feeling - with a sea view in the distance over the rolling hills. It was our first visit to Abersoch but won't be our last!

Great location. We plan to return here as we really enjoyed our stay at the well equipped cottage. The welcome pack from the owners was a lovely touch and was thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely recommend a stay at Trigfa Cottage

The situation is perfect, so close to Porth Ceriad which is a very special beach. We loved breakfasting in the sun room and dinner in the garden looking out over the hills. Appreciated the welcome treats and the cottage really suited our family. Thank you!

  • "Trigfa was a real find and I’ve now stayed there twice and have a third visit booked."

Perfect place to spend Christmas this year and the owner had made an effort to put a few Christmas touches around the cottage which were appreciated. Everything you need and more is at the cottage and the owner appears to have thought of everything and left a very generous welcome package. An unforeseen problem with the fridge this time was swiftly resolved by the owner. The cottage is perfectly positioned and is equidistant to Abersoch and Hell’s Mouth which was a selling point for me. Discovered this time that the beautiful Porth Ceiriad is only a 15 minutes stroll away. Trigfa is a gem but don’t tell everyone so it can remain my secret hideaway.

It felt like a home from home as soon as we walked in. Loved the garden with the two separate areas. There's a sun trap at the bottom end with a table and seats to eat out there when the weather is good. Some lovely beaches close by and a short walk into Abersoch.

  • "Location is fabulous, just out of the main town but not too isolated."

Super views and even though next to a caravan site, really quiet and peaceful. Great for exploring the lesser known about beaches. Layout isn’t ideal if you have young children as the bedrooms are far apart but this wasn’t an issue for us. The garden is difficult to navigate and can’t been seen from the house so keeping an eye on our young dog proved difficult. Lots of cobwebs and spiders on first arrival so I had to get the hoover out before my children would go to bed. The main issue for us was the damp smell in the main bedroom. I didn’t think I would be able to last out the week with it but luckily after the first 2 days we had hot weather which seemed to help it clear up slightly. It didn’t completely go but became more manageable. This is the only thing which would stop me booking the cottage again.

  • "The accommodation is very comfortable, being an multi-extended stone cottage with good sized bedrooms and living room."

However the kitchen is so small it cannot accommodate 2 people, and a small pull out table on the wall has to be used as work surface space. The added on conservatory held the only pull out large table for eating on, and this was rickety. There is no dishwasher as advertised and the large lawn garden appearing on the holiday particulars is none existent, having been reduced to a tiny area surrounded by shrub planting to hide a chalet building at the top of the garden, appearing to be another single let or owners use accommodation. The garden area is higher than the house and accessed by two steps. Although on the roadside, traffic noise was not a problem in evening and morning, but the road is the access to caravan parks further along and in the height of season may be noisier. I would not book this property again, purely because of its lack of kitchen space.

  • "We had a very good holiday in a great area with excellent views; there is a great walk from the cottage to Abersoch by taking a footpath through a nearby farm."

It is also very close to the Cilan headland with its breathtaking views. The cottage was well presented and had a nice sun room where we spent most of our time. The cottage suffered from some damp issues which caused a damp and musty smell most noticeable in the bathroom and main bed room. The twin beds in the second bedroom are quite narrow and are not really suitable for adults! The cottage is located on quite a busy road from Abersoch to Cilan without a footpath - there is no front gate so young children need to be closely supervised due to traffic.

  • "The location was amazing, so convenient for Abersoch and beaches."

The weather was glorious too. The cottage was well equipped. However, it is next to a busy road which dog owners and people with small children need to be aware of. It was unfortunately also damp especially in the living room and back bedroom. This urgently needs addressing as my daughter and I both have asthma and it did make us feel unwell and aggravated my autoimmune condition.. It is the only cottage I have ever stayed in without central heating in this area (I was very surprised as it isn’t a small cottage) and I believe it needs this to sort out the damp. The cottage smelled damp, there was mould around the fireplace and windows in the back bedroom and the kitchen wall nearest to the back bedroom was wet to the touch. Because of this I wouldn’t stay there again which is a big shame as it was otherwise a gorgeous, well located cottage. Please put in some central heating and check the flat roof in the back bedroom. I’d love to come back and visit if these improvements are made ☺️☺️

The cottage is a bit out of Abersoch about five mins in car £5 for car park's that's for eight hours, and walking it take's about half to three quarters of the hour. The only down side for us was the garden with our dog, you could not just open the door and let him out into the garden, as you could not see what he was up to, had to go out of the front door "lock it" and then use side gate up to the garden, the grass area is not like the picture shown, not as green and is patchy, the upper level is ok lovely views, and you can hear the bull's having a drink as you are right next to them, had to block a few little gaps up, as are dog is very inquisitive. But other than that we enjoyed our stay.

It was very private and being detached, very quiet too. Shame weather not that good so didn't use the two areas in garden, one for sitting out, or the top garden with bbq. We like Sarn Bach as near our favourite Machroes Beach but also not too far to Abersoch itself. Nice touch owners leaving us a bottle of Prosecco.

As walkers we spent our 4 day break completely car free and made use of the fantastic Coastal Bus (£2 per journey, allows dogs, doesn't run Tuesday and Wednesday) to travel to Aberdaron. There are delightful and relatively non challenging walks to the stunning Porth Ceiriad (approx. 1 mile) and a couple of interesting walking routes into Abersoch which avoid the main road. Less than a mile away by foot is The Sun Inn, some of the finest fish and chips I have enjoyed in a long time and very much appreciated after a walk around the headland to Hells Mouth.

About the location

ABERSOCH

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
