    Our dogs especially liked the large enclosed garden and space to roam. Would definitely recommend for a doggie break and a chill out.

The property

Settled on the outskirts of St Asaph in Denbighshire is this unique, pet-friendly shepherd's hut, The Suffolk.

The hut is a converted railway wagon with plenty of character, a private gated entrance with off-road parking, and a studio-style layout beautifully appointed for two guests to enjoy a romantic holiday in North Wales.

The open-plan living space has a double bed with a wall-mounted TV and DVD player, a dining area for two, and a kitchen equipped with the essentials to prepare evening meals, along with a separate wet room.

On summer evenings, you can open the double doors to let the outside in, where your private garden has two quirky cinema seats to relax with a glass of wine or dine alfresco using the chiminea.

You'll be surrounded by the idyllic countryside of the Vale of Clwyd with plenty of walks to discover on your doorstep, while the centre of St Asaph is a short journey away, along with White House for relaxing spa treatments, The Dinorben Arms and the Plough which are all dog friendly.

St Asaph, though small, was awarded city status in 2012, even though it boasts a population of little over 3500 occupants. Lying in the Vale of Clwyd, six miles between Denbigh and the coastal town of Rhyl, in North Wales, St Asaph enjoys a strategic location overlooking the rivers Clwyd and Elwy. The city offers delightful riverside parkland and a children’s play area with picturesque river walks where you may see kingfishers, sparrow hawks and buzzards. St Asaph is home to a historic cathedral, dating back 1400 years in areas and holding the reputation of being the smallest, ancient cathedral in Britain. It is also renowned as the location where the Bible was translated into Welsh in the 16th century. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations, culminating for the last few years in a television finale, broadcast from the cathedral.
