"Our first impressions of the property was very disappointing with garden looking very tired and overgrown with weeds everywhere."
We felt the car park is not big enough for 4 cars as stated. The windows and doors are all in need of a good clean. The bin was full with rubbish next to it from previous guests resulting in seagulls scattering it all over the drive. The owner was contacted and arranged for a second bin which did arrive, we understand it is the councils fault as they now collect every 3 weeks.Photos on property listing are very deceiving as living accomdation is very small, in particular the living areas.Kitchen is very disorganised with no usable food storage area avalable, crockery in every cupboard and not enough for 8 guests. The fridge is too small for the no of guests stated. We feel the washing machine could be moved outside to accommodate a dishwasher. Outside shower tempruture control was very unpredictable and unsafe for kids using it as it got very hot.No instructions for maintaing the hottub as they requsted guests to add chemicals after each use, not enough usable testing strips. There are small hanging dehumidifer bags in every bedroom which are full and discusting, there are other better alternatives. The back downstairs bedroom smelt damp. The general cleaning and maintenance throughout the property is poor, in particular attention to detail such as high hand contact areas on doors are very dirty, kitchen cupboard doors smeared as not buffed up enough, outside toilet seat broken, shower raiser rail in main bathroom too short so it drops out when using shower. Upstairs bedrooms got very hot from afternoon onwards and the fans were not a lot of good. The conservatory is in need of a good deep clean on all plastic areas. The floors throughout downstairs were not as clean as they could have been when we arrived.

"Arrived to find bins overflowing in the driveway, filthy windows covered in cobwebs and bird poo - not the best welcome!"
The children ran straight to the hot tub - the main reason we booked this house - to find the water was green with lots of scum floating on top. Utterly disgusting. It obviously hadn’t been checked between visitors. We spent our whole trip fixing the water. The outside area obviously does not get cared for. I don't expet to have to clean outdoor furniture before I can use it, especially in summer when obviously we would want to be outside. Advertising the house as having 2 bathrooms is a stretch - nobody wanted to use the outdoor bathroom because of the huge spiders and cobwebs. The house has a damp issue - the provided towels were damp - and the damp bags hanging everywhere are a bit grim. As others have mentioned, the fridge is far too small for a house that sleeps 8, and for the price we paid I would expect a dishwasher.

"We were disappointed on arrival, the front and rear of the property looked unloved with dirty windows, window sills, door and the gardens overgrown with weeds and leaves everywhere rendering the outside spaces unusable."
The ready to use hot tub was cold and Bromine, alkalinity and PH all at 0. We found the chemicals and rectified this ourselves. The house was clean but we needed to clean kitchen utensils and drawers and defrost the fridge and freezer before use.
We had to end our stay a day early due to the main water supply having a burst water main across Flintshire and not expected to be on again until the weekend.

"The cottage is ideally placed within walking distance of a great beach and local amenities, and wishing a short drive of other attractions such as Llandudno, Rhyl, Towyn etc."
There was plenty to keep us busy.
The property itself was a good size and very comfortable, with well presented bedrooms and living areas. The hot tub was a hit.
Our only issue was the outdoor space was quite untidy. The patio furniture was unclean and quite old, and the garden area was overgrown. It meant we didn’t use this space as much as we would have liked.

"Branwen was a beautiful place to spend our week in wales."
The house was lovely, everything was clean and comfortable, and the facilities were fab. Everything was as pictured and we had everything we needed and more during our stay.
The location is absolutely perfect, with the shops, bars and beach just a 2minute walk away. We also loved the local walks to the Gronant Dunes and to the Dee Estuary Salt Marshes. We had a lovely stay and will definitely return.

We loved our stay, very close to beach, pub, shops and amusements. Would love to stay again.
Just one point to mention, can only apologise but the bin was not emptied before our visit so very difficult to discard of refuge but I assume this was another customers fault.
Thank u so much.
so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Sorry about the bin situation, the council in their wisdom have decided to empty the main bin every 3 weeks, we are trying to find a solution to the problem

"We had a lovely stay at Branwen, which is nicely furnished and maintained."
The hot tub is particularly good and well looked after. I think that it is important to know that although there are plenty of seating areas, it is difficult to seat a large group in the same room, which can be a disadvantage if your whole group wants to be together. I think the photographs made it look much bigger than it is. Great location though, walking distance to village and beach. Well equipped kitchen but freezer is out in the garden bar.
Really pleased you enjoyed yourselves

"Having been let down at the last minute we managed to find Branwen."
We were amazed how accommodating they were especially getting everything ready for our arrival. We didn’t know what to expect as we didn’t have time to research. We were more than happy on arrival the welcome basket was a nice touch. The hot tub and outside bar was an added bonus. There were plenty of games books dvds.
A perfect family holiday home in an excellent location just a stones throw away from the beach
Thank you so much for your feedback, so glad you enjoyed yourselves but the star ratings are very low, is there a reason?

"What can I say?"
Staying here was an absolute treat. Jayne welcomed us with the most beautiful welcome basket and it even had dog treats for our lovely dog. The place was spotless! The rooms are so beautifully put together and it felt like we were at home from the moment we walked through the door. The enclosed garden and hot tub made our holiday even more special as my children and dog spent most of their time there. We were so close to local amenities including a great arcade, tourist-y shops, the beach and the most amazing tasting ice cream. Local is also a number of lovely cafes/restaurants which are also dog friendly. We will definitely be coming back to stay.
Thank you for your lovely feedback

"An amazing property in a great location for the beach, amusements, walking and near extra activities and facilities in Prestatyn and Rhyl."
We had a minor issue (blocked toilet) which was quickly resolved. Nice welcome hamper and Jayne was so helpful and friendly. The garden was great for the grandchildren (Easter egg hunt) and our 2 dogs and we all made full use of the fab hot tub. Outside shower and bar a bonus. The one thing we were concerned about was the bifold door between the 2 upstairs bedrooms as it came off the rail - perhaps remove it altogether or replace with a curtain?
We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this place to other families. Thank you!

"Our group had the most wonderful time at Branwen."
The home is absolutely beautiful with top facilities, you could not ask for more. Beds were comfy, the WiFi was great, it’s a shame it’s almost winter because the garden is also brilliant and I can imagine it would be lovely to sit in the summer! Jayne was really amazing too, can’t thank her enough for what she did for us. If you’re looking for a brilliant holiday in Wales, with the bonus of a hot tub, look no further. "We were a party of 7, 4 adults and 3 kids staying monday to friday."
The property was as described and was spotless and fresh. It was a good size for everyone with plenty of space. The garden, hottub and bar were a great addition. The garden was well enclosed for the dog and the outdoor shower room/toilet was useful with 7 people. Jayne and her husband Chris were a great help with a few issues we had but nothing was too much trouble. Jayne was there to meet us on arrival and offered suggestions of place to eat and visit. Communication was excellent and the property was very clean and well presented throughout. Talacre was a great base with a beautiful beach and easy access to all north Wales had to offer. Would definitely recommend and would love to return one day. Karen
