There was even a hamper with wine and biscuits and dog treats The hot tub was lovely after our days out exploring north wales. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dogs. Thank you for a wonderful holiday Julie Dave and Boris and Fergie

  • "An amazing property in a great location for the beach, amusements, walking and near extra activities and facilities in Prestatyn and Rhyl."

We had a minor issue (blocked toilet) which was quickly resolved. Nice welcome hamper and Jayne was so helpful and friendly. The garden was great for the grandchildren (Easter egg hunt) and our 2 dogs and we all made full use of the fab hot tub. Outside shower and bar a bonus. The one thing we were concerned about was the bifold door between the 2 upstairs bedrooms as it came off the rail - perhaps remove it altogether or replace with a curtain? We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this place to other families. Thank you!

  • "Our group had the most wonderful time at Branwen."

The home is absolutely beautiful with top facilities, you could not ask for more. Beds were comfy, the WiFi was great, it’s a shame it’s almost winter because the garden is also brilliant and I can imagine it would be lovely to sit in the summer! Jayne was really amazing too, can’t thank her enough for what she did for us. If you’re looking for a brilliant holiday in Wales, with the bonus of a hot tub, look no further. We’d be back in a heartbeat!

  • "Just back from a 4 night stay at Branwen, Talacre."

We’re a family of 5 (17, 16 and 11 year olds). We’ve had a great time, our host was lovely, friendly and knowledgeable, the cottage was really clean, had everything you could imagine provided for and was really comfortable. The location of the cottage is fantastic, it’s a 3 minute walk to the most wonderful unspoilt beach. The hot tub (a proper one!) was a real win. All in all a fab time, cottage and location. Thanks you very much

  • "Steve, Louise & Ralph We stayed at this cottage 2/9/23 for a week and didn’t want to leave."

Was welcomed by Jayne who gave us lots of information about the place and showed us around the cottage. Welcome basket on arrival with wine & biscuits and dog treats was a lovely touch. The cottage was spotless and the kitchen had everything you needed in it. The garden was was well kept and fully enclosed for our dog to have a wander around. Added bonus of the hot tub and outside bar and the shower and toilet was great. This was the best cottage we have stayed in and Talacre had everything we needed and the beach only a five min walk from the cottage. We will definitely be returning as much as we can.

  • "Great place to stay, an ideal location to explore the area."

Jayne was helpful and checked in with us to ensure all was okay. There is plenty of space, whether a family or two families holidaying together. The outside hot tub and bar area are so well executed and really do offer great additional outside space to enjoy. Thank you

  • "We were a party of 7, 4 adults and 3 kids staying monday to friday."

The property was as described and was spotless and fresh. It was a good size for everyone with plenty of space. The garden, hottub and bar were a great addition. The garden was well enclosed for the dog and the outdoor shower room/toilet was useful with 7 people. Jayne and her husband Chris were a great help with a few issues we had but nothing was too much trouble. Jayne was there to meet us on arrival and offered suggestions of place to eat and visit. Communication was excellent and the property was very clean and well presented throughout. Talacre was a great base with a beautiful beach and easy access to all north Wales had to offer. Would definitely recommend and would love to return one day. Karen

Thank you so much for your feedback, so glad the issues didn't affect your days away too much ( you were out first guests and we hadn't checked it out. So sorry) We would love to have you back. Once again thank you. I've just heard about the £5 and it was not necessary but thank you x Property Owner

About the location

TALACRE

Prestatyn 4.5 miles; Holywell 8.6 miles.

The idyllic village of Talacre rests on the north coast of Wales in Flintshire. The village is known for its famous beach, sitting just across the River Dee from the Wirral from the English/Welsh border. Boasting miles of golden sand backed by dunes, this dog-friendly beach offers a plenty of space for holidaymakers – you might even get the beach all to yourself! Talacre’s most obvious feature is the Point of Ayr Lighthouse which dates back to 1776. Within the village there are two pubs, the popular Point Bar & Restaurant and the Lighthouse Inn, along with a post office that sells the essentials. The area around the beach, Gronant Dunes and Talacre Warren is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) with an RSPB reserve, home to rare species including the natterjack toad, whilst the nearby Dee Estuary is a haven for wintering birds.
