"We absolutely loved our time at the Craig Yr Ronwy."
The house is perfect. Beautiful and clean. Fresh bed linen. Wonderful 360 views all around. Garden is perfect to relax in and the beds were so comfortable. We all loved it. Perfect location for getting around to all of the numerous activities. Would definitely booked again for 6 adults 2 children and a Yorkshire terrier. Thanks for a memorable stay.
Thanks so much for such lovely feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you come back soon!

"This is such a great house, but is badly let down by the beds."
Only the master bed is comfortable, and that is a bit odd with its oversized mattress-topper and undersized sheets that keep popping off.
The front double bedroom was so uncomfortable that after one night I had to swap with my daughter. She didn't find it as bad as me (possibly because she is lighter), but she did not find it great, and said she would not have wanted to sleep in it with anyone else as there was a massive hollow in the middle.
I only sat on the small double in the back room and one of the twins in the other back room, and both felt very like the cheapest beds from a market, and not what you expect in this sort of priced property.
We also found that it was not quite as clean in some places as we might have expected, mostly outside. Not too bad, though, other than that some of the crockery and cutlery was dirty -- dried on food, very unappealing. I ended up running a whole dishwasher load of crockery and cutlery just to be sure it was all clean.
There was also a shortage of saucepans. Loads of of frying pans and a wok, and other kitchen equipment (all massive ticks), but only one very small saucepan, which seemed odd considering how well equipped the kitchen was otherwise (huge plus points for having electronic scales and plenty of glasses, though a lot of those were on a shelf I would not have been able to reach if I had been alone, and I am above average height for a woman).
I would also flag that there were not really enough large glass bowls, and no bowl big enough to make a large salad for many people (we were only two, but had we been eight as could be staying, we would not have been able to make a big bowl of salad or pasta).
The other annoyance was that there were no accessible sockets near the beds. I use a piece of electrical medical equipment at night and need to plug that in right next to the bed. Luckily we always travel with extension leads and my daughter was able to drag the bed out of the way and plug one in, but if I had been alone I would not have been able to do that and don't know what I would have done as it was the same in both the front bedrooms. Indeed in the smaller front bedroom, only one of the bedside lights could be plugged in as there were not enough sockets even behind the bed for both, which is no use at all as those lights are already very dim. One of the other bedside lights in another room didn't work either. Presumably a bulb issue but these things should be checked between guests.
Other deficits included the fact that the toilet seat in the bathroom is far too small for the bowl, which is less than ideal. And the baby gates top and bottom of the stairs made getting up and down awkward when one has slightly reduced mobility, not to mention virtually impossible to get the luggage upstairs -- again I would not have been able to do that if my daughter had not been with me.
Finally, we were shocked to find that there were no fans in the property. It was very hot while we were there and would have been impossible to sleep at all on some nights had we not luckily brought two fans with us from home. As the property supplies many blankets and throws and a little portable heater for guests (very many ticks for all that for a winter stay), it seemed surprising that there was not at the very least a fan in each bedroom.
Finally it would be a good idea to put the instructions for recycling above the bin in the kitchen, or -- better -- on the actual wheelie bins themselves. We got confused about what was meant to go where (it is very different from the arrangements in our council area) and so ended up leaving all the recyclables in the crate so that the cleaners or owners could sort it all out properly rather than risk making a mistake and ruining it all.
Having said all that, there were a huge number of plus points. The wine and milk in the fridge on arrival were a nice touch. There were plenty of hangers in every room (and of the sort that you can take out and put back easily, not those annoying ones you get in hotels that are partly fixed to the wardrobe), which was very welcome, along with plenty of drawer space in every room as well. A good selection of garden furniture was much appreciated (though it is a pity the leylandii hedge is so high that you can't see the view from the table and benches), and the generally well equipped kitchen and sitting rooms were terrific, especially two streaming TVs, which meant I could watch Wimbledon while my daughter watched the football and we could both Netflix etc when the move took us!
Lovely comfy sofas and good curtains, including in the bedrooms, were much appreciated, especially in the east-facing bedrooms, and the sensor-activated night-light on the landing was a real boon.
The provision of liquid soap at each basin and sink and loo roll at each loo (albeit only one) was very welcome for that initial 24h (though strangely no kitchen roll), and the shower in the bathroom was fantastic -- the shower itself (lots of power and a detachable head as well as the rainforest head), but also the shelf for one's products and the fact that it is easy access walk-in with no step, and nice and roomy and with a proper door so the rest of the room doesn't get wet. We didn't use the other shower but it looked nice.
Also great was the nice properly big fridge-freezer, and the large and speedy kettle. The dishwasher seemed good too, and it was nice that they provided tablets. And having the amenity of a washing machine and tumble dryer is lovely (though we didn't use either).
The utility room was a great advantage as I could keep the dog's food etc in there out of the main kitchen, just as we do at home.
Also appreciated was the great many knives that were properly sharp (most holiday cottages have few and blunt) and the good range of chopping boards, plus teatowel, hand-towel and oven gloves provided for the kitchen and a hand-towel in the downstairs loo.
Also the owners were very responsive when I had to contact them about there being no key for the bin for putting general rubbish in, which was very reassuring.
Finally, of course, there is the utterly splendid view, which I could have sat and looked at all day!
All in all, we thought it was a really splendid house and hope to become regular visitors, but they do need to address the beds and some of the other niggles above.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review and we are glad you liked the house. The last guest review commented on how comfortable the beds are, I will ask the cleaners to make sure they use the correct size sheets for the master and check the mattress in the other room to see it needs replacing. We ask that guests clean pans etc before they leave and the cleaners usually check but I will let them know. The cleaners informed us recently that a couple of the non-stick pans had lost their coating and these have been replaced. There should be a set of 3 saucepans and a large stock pot as well as a large pasta bowl, large lasagna and pie dishes and a salad bowl. Guests sometimes put things in the wrong cupboards and drawers or break things and don’t tell us. We will do a full inventory check over the coming weeks. We provide extension leads, again these may have gone missing. The missing keys were left in one of the kitchen cupboards by the previous guests.

"We stayed at the farmhouse in what turned out to be one of the hottest weeks of the year so we didn't do as many activities as had planned due to the heat, which meant more time at the farmhouse."
It was absolutely beautiful. The location is stunning with beautiful views of the reservoir, mountains & RAF Valley jets & training aircraft coming through the Mach Loop, which absolutely loved! And we were surrounded by sheep! What could be better. The farmhouse was immaculate, loads of room, fantastic kitchen for large family meals, quality crockery, cutlery & cook wear. Huge ovens & hob with large fridge. 2 well equipped lounges with many books for all ages & games. Plenty of outdoor furniture, excellent parking & all dry stone walled & well fenced in for our 2 German shepherd dogs. The showers were excellent which is really important to us. Plenty of hot water. THE most comfortable beds! Bedrooms all with ample room & storage with good quality furniture, nice bedding & towels provided. We had the most relaxing, chilled week in this lovely holiday let! Definitely recommend.

What a wonderful view from the lounge window !
The accommodation has everything you could want and need. We ate in twice and had a cooked breakfast each morning- plenty of utensils and gadgets to cover these.
The starter pack for the fire was a great addition.
Great location. We had booked a Dog sledding session close by and there are plenty of hikes on your doorstep.
Highly recommended.
Would love to return in the summer.
Thank you for such lovely feedback, we are glad you enjoyed the house and the views. We haven’t tried the dog sledding yet but will soon! We’d love to welcome you back in summer. David and Lorna

"A lovely house with magnificent views."
Really grateful to David, the owner, for his flexibility in accommodating a couple of extra requests we had. The house has a good enclosed area for dogs and, as part of a working farm, while you can't walk your dogs off lead from the house, there is a reservoir at the bottom of the lane where you can let them run off lead. The house was clean and very well equipped; we had a great vibe as soon as we walked in. We would be very happy to return. Thank you David.

! We lived everything about this place. Perfectly situated no more than 40 minutes from everything we wanted to do, this was a great hub for us and amazing place to stay. The wide, large windows in the living room provide a constant reminder of the beauty you’re surrounded by. We were lucky enough to get some favourable weather so able to enjoy the garden area at the back also. I can’t recommend this property more highly and I shall definitely be looking to return in future

We enjoy cooking together and the kitchen was ideal for that with everything you could possibly need.
The views were stunning and the area is absolutely gorgeous. We couldn't find a way to walk around the nearby reservoir but it didn't affect our stay. There were sheep all around so we kept our dogs on the lead outside. Only small criticism is the farmer's dogs are kept outside very close to the house and they barked a lot. Luckily our dogs didn't react.
Highly recommend staying there.

"Everything was perfect the owners have gone above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible."
I used to live here as a child and I’m very impressed how its kept its original character and its nicely done up . The garden was freshly cut everything was spotless in the house . My dad owns the sheep around the house and it’s nice that there are signs to ask guests to kindly put the dogs on the leads . I have 2 dogs who thoroughly enjoyed running around in the garden chasing each other . There is a handbook with everything you need to know internet code etc and also places to walk or where to go on days out . I would highly recommend Craig Y Ronwy you wont be disappointed. Thank you to the owners for allowing me to experience my childhood home as an adult .
We can’t say how delighted we are that you came to stay. Your dad is a legend, he both welcomed and helped us. His commitment to the farm and his energy are inspirational. What a place to grow up! Glad you enjoyed your stay. David and Lorna

A beautiful clean and very comfortable cottage with stunning views of the hills and reservoir we loved it ,the only issue is the three sheepdogs 50 metres from the property which barked most of the night on our second nightI understand it can’t be helped but it certainly affects your sleep but apart from that it was lovely thank you
Thank you for your feedback,
The surrounding area is stunning and we are glad you liked the cottage and enjoyed the surrounding area. The farm dogs are usually quiet at night so we're sorry they disturbed you on one night, something must have disturbed them, perhaps holiday makers at the nearby farmhouse. We can only apologise for this and are pleased you were happy with everything else.

"Sadly we ended our holiday 2 days early, not because of the accommodation which was really good but by the 3 dogs that were caged within earshot of cottage and that barked almost constantly throughout the nights."
When we would have liked to have windows open during the warm evenings they were kept shut, and even this did not stop the sound reaching the two main rooms. The lack of sleep was unbearable. Sad as the property is lovely and well decorated / furnished. Clearly this is an ongoing issue judging by similar comments in the visitors book.
Thank you for your feedback and we are glad you liked the property. I can only apologise that you were disturbed by the farm dogs, unfortunately this is beyond our control, as the house sits within farmland. They are usually quiet at night, as they tend to bark when people pass by. We will speak with the farmer.

It is well placed with beautiful views over the reservoir and hills. It is remote enough to make you feel you are away from it all, yet you can get to the shops in around a 10 minute drive if you need to. Inside it is really modern and clean. The owners have thought of everything and it is well equipped with kitchen equipment, books, games, DVDs etc.
The sofas and beds are really comfortable. The only downside to this place is that at some point you will have to leave. It felt like a home from home. We have stayed in a lot of places in Wales and this is one that we will definitely book again.
