  • "A 'home' in every sense of the word, with every possible need and more catered for."

Pretty. Immaculate. So many extra touches, both practical and thoughtful. The most generous welcome basket and the garden was a fully enclosed delight, perfect for star gazing. Ann, the host was charming, a font of of knowledge and Trefor is perfect for accessing so many of Lllyn's and the surrounding area's attractions. Perfect for families or adults. Diolch yn fawr.

L Absolutely everything you would need for a perfect home from home holiday, fabulous garden to relax in - ideal for families but equally suitable for all. Everything clean and furnished to an extremely high standard, the host attentive and welcoming - nothing is too much trouble. Ideally located for a range of activities: beach, walks, trains, castles, go-karts - we had such a fabulous stay, we booked an extra week at the end! Thanks again to Ann, and we will be back... again...

Ann was great, checking we had everything we needed and making us welcome. The weather wasn’t great but we managed to chase the sunshine, visiting a lot of the area. We particularly enjoyed Morfa Nefyn, golfing in Abersoch and the coastal paths around Aberdaron. The cottage was perfect for us. We are looking forward to returning next year!

This is a lovely, clean, well kept cottage with a lot of added extras and a lovely garden. Ann has thought about absolutely everything you might need to make your stay home from home, from a well stocked kitchen to games for the kids, buckets and spades, even an umbrella for the good old welsh weather! She has also provided a lot of information on attractions and things to do in the local area. Ann was very friendly and welcoming, checking in to see if we were OK and if we needed anything. The cottage is situated a 10 minute walk from trefor beach and from a country walk which was good for the dog. Easy access to everything you might want to do whilst you are away. I would recommend this cottage, we will definitely be visiting again. Thank you Ann

Our host was so thoughtful and we really appreciated those little touches of milk and Welsh cakes upon arrival which provided a warm welcoming start to our holiday. The cottage is spotlessly clean and lounge area very comfortable after a day of exploring. So nice to have the beach so close by too. Our dog loved her visit to the beach!! Garden was beautiful and well enclosed with a lovely garden furniture set for guests to use. Very spacious for a couple or a young family. Our host practically thought of everything we might need during our stay. I would highly recommend staying here. Well located for visiting and exploring Pwllheli, Caernarfon etc. Certainly can't beat those mountain views.

Sadly cut the break short as very poor sleep (2,4 hours max ) with a clicking plugs in plug out type of noise being made each night from 11pm onwards I think from next doors bedroom . Hear the footsteps people walking up and down stairs next to the bedroom. Nice base to explore from in laid back village ,short walk to sandy cover. Just 1 shop locally and no real eateries close by to walk out to.pleasant stay we used just to base and shower from etc as out all day ,sadly the sleep and noises were a major issue

Thank for your feedback, we have not had any previous reports of this noise and was the first we heard of this when you advised just before leaving. After hearing this we have followed up with the booking prior to yours who were there for 2 weeks, and they advised that they did not hear a sound at all from next door whilst they were there. Had one day of persistent rain, but that was a great excuse to spend the day at the cottage and indulge watching Netflix, a luxury I never have at home and after a full day of walking the day before, just what my poor knees needed!!! Very clean and lovely decor. A pretty garden too, just to note there is a path in between the house and the garden that allows access for others to pass by but it’s so quiet it isn’t a problem we just couldn’t leave the back door open in case the dog wandered out. Nothing at all can be done to change this, it’s a lovely period cottage with its quirk. Thank you so much for the welcome gifts, lovely surprise and Ann the owner is fab. The owner (Ann) couldn't do enough for us and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We arrived to find a lovely hamper waiting for us and we were able to have a cup of tea as soon as we arrived! The cottage was spotlessly clean and the rear enclosed garden was ideal for our pooch who loved running up and down! We stayed last week and the wood burner was ideal for the chilly evenings and made the cottage feel so homely. There is a local store a short walk from the cottage for all your general provisions. There is a pub in the village but we didn't get the chance to go to it, it is only open on certain days and doesn't serve food we were told but that was ok with us. Freshly baked pizzas are available in the village on Saturday nights (next to the pub) and they are delicious! The cottage was an ideal base for driving out to Porthmadog, nearby Caernarfon Castle, Criccieth Castle, and Pwthelli. It's quiet in the village of Trefor but we liked that. This cottage has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break away but you will need to be prepared to travel out of the village to find cafe's, pubs, restaurants etc. We're booking for Spring next year and can't wait!

There was everything you could wish for and more... a lovely welcome pack with lots of tasty local goodies and even fresh flowers on the table. The decor in every room was outstanding. Our dog loved the garden and so did we. The only thing I think should be mentioned is that the pub in the village does not allow dogs inside.... sitting on a wooden bench looking onto a bus depot , builders rubble bags and an untidy scruffy area of the pub is not a nice setting to have a cider after a walk with your dog.... if my husband hadn’t ordered the drinks we wouldn’t have stayed. This would not stop be using the property again as it was wonderful but I do think a pub listed in a village would give people the impression that it’s dog friendly and it’s not.

Beach is about a 10 minute walk. It’s not a great beach but good for a dog walk and there are plenty of excellent beaches nearby. The shop in the village (5 mins walk) is well stocked with all the basics. • "We stayed at Bythynnod Newydd with our dog for a week over Christmas - 2017."

We had a fantastic week and were thrilled with the house. Excellent location for exploring, with beautiful walks just outside the door and a very easy drive to the more popular tourist locations - Snowdon, Anglesey etc. The house was very cosy, lovely double log burner and comforting decor throughout. Although this house is in a residential street, it was extremely quite and peaceful. I think we saw 1x person all week and that was the lady next door. We were able to park directly outside the house each day, no matter what time we returned. As we stayed at Bythynnod Newydd in December, we weren't able to make use of the pretty garden but if attending in the summer, i would say this is a big pro. Lovely large garden, very well maintained and with stunning views of the mountains in most directions. Ann the owner was very welcoming and extremely caring. She had decorated the house for us for Xmas with was lovely for us to be welcomed with upon arrival. The tree was beautiful, outdoor lights were a lovely touch and she even brought us Xmas table wear for our Xmas dinner. Very sweet. Main bedroom is huge and very comfortable. After many hours in the day spent walking and dredging though the snow, we were always please to dive into such a comfortable bed. Spare bedroom is also very spacious and cosy, love decor again and great views over the garden. Wifi was great, fast and responsive, which for us was amazing. Normally we have lots of issues with signal in Wales but the connection was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bythynnod Newydd and will defiantly return! Great house, great location, cosy, welcoming and well equipt. Thankyou Ann for such a memorable stay!

  • "The cottage was excellent, very clean and comfortable."

Well situated for getting around sightseeing. Beautiful views. There is even a bus stop just outside the door which takes you into Pwllheli or Caernarvon. We definitely intend returning next year for a longer stay.

Special praise for the beautiful garden and its seating area, and for the friendly and helpful owner. The location is excellent, within a 30 Minute drive of numerous great places to see/things to do including Zip Velocity, Anglesey and Llanberis/Snowdon. All the booking arrangements were really easy. We had a lovely break here and would highly recommend.
