The garden was fantastic. We didn't let our dog off the lead, as there were a few gaps in the hedge, but the owner had told us this in advance. He could still run around on his extendable lead. We even saw a squirrel and a pheasant in the garden, so the kids were delighted. Such a big, ,comfortable house. The conservatory was our favourite area. The kids loved the football table and games. The biscuits left for us were lovely. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The owners were helpful.and friendly, checking that we were settling in OK. Great communication, and very approachable. Bit out of our price range for the summer, but we would recommend to everyone.

The house is accurately described on Sykes Cottages website and has everything a holiday family could wish for. The area has much to interest a holidaymaker and both sides of the Conwy estuary are worth exploring with nature reserves and marinas. Definitely one of our favourite destinations and will not disappoint.

  • "Large warm property with lovely garden on a quiet street; we were pleased to discover just before our stay that there was gas central heating as well as Aga (which we didn't need on, the central heating was sufficient) as we hadn't realised this from property description."

Location a couple of minutes from A55 means ideal for sightseeing across North Wales and Anglesey. Good local dog walks including along river, 20 minute walk across bridge into Conwy, about 10 minute stroll to local pub that served good food and supermarkets less than 5 minute drive (in walking distance). We would have liked to have had chairs, for comfort, at the dining table rather than benches, so we could linger over dinner but we enjoyed our stay and the owners were very helpful.

Beautiful house. Plenty of parking, can easily fit 3+ cars on the drive. The house was very clean and generally well equipped. The garden was large and well kept. Its a shame that the tree house is out if bounds for the kids as they would have loved playing in it!. As the weather was good, some more garden loungers would have been nice (2 were available to use but there were 4 adults). The house has great views of Conwy castle from the bedrooms. As the house is in a residential area it was very quiet which was nice but it's close to the amenities (food shops, fish &chip shop, pub). We found the location to be good for what we wanted to do, took 10mins to get to Llandudno and only 30 mins to betws y coed or llanwurst. Had a great stay and would recommend this house and the location.

About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
