  • "Beautiful peaceful location, very comfortable & clean accommodation."

Owners very friendly & non intrusive. On hand to deal with any issues or questions very quickly if needed. Excellent facilities for dogs. Very Large secure enclosed field for your personal use attached to ‘The Gypsy’ shepherds hut. (That one has the largest space). Highly recommend this to any dog owners seeking a quiet get away with the pooch. Thank you for a lovely week, will be returning.

  • "Our second visit this year and had a fantastic time as always."

If you want a lovely chilled break then this is the place. Our dog loved the huge paddock and we were all able to sit out infront of the burner until it was dark. Will be back again and again.

  • "Lovely little hideaway."

Peacefully quiet. Perfect for dog. Only issue is it says short walk to farmers arms pub which is dog friendly and does food. When we arrived we were informed that it is now a b and b for guests only

The property

Situated in acres of rolling countryside, on the outskirts of the small city of St Asaph, in North Wales, is this quirky country lodge.

Resting in the Vale of Clwyd, there are miles of open fields for couples to explore right from their doorstep!

The property itself is full of charm and character, with its wooden ceilings, antique furnishings and quirky wall ornaments making it a real treat for couples.

Look forward to returning to your little hideaway and relax in the studio-style open-plan living space.

Curl up on the provided armchairs and spend the evenings catching up with your favourite shows, in front of the woodburning stove.

Though small, the kitchen has been well-equipped with mostly everything you could need to cook up some delicious home-cooked meals, to enjoy over a sparkling glass of champagne.

Once the evening draws to a close, retire to the double bed and get some much needed rest for the day's ahead, this bed has been provided with tall people in mind, if you are over 6foot you needn't worry about having enough space.

The Gypsy is an excellent base for touring this rural area of North Wales with your partner.

About the location

ST ASAPH

Denbigh 6 miles; Chester 28 miles.

St Asaph, though small, was awarded city status in 2012, even though it boasts a population of little over 3500 occupants. Lying in the Vale of Clwyd, six miles between Denbigh and the coastal town of Rhyl, in North Wales, St Asaph enjoys a strategic location overlooking the rivers Clwyd and Elwy. The city offers delightful riverside parkland and a children’s play area with picturesque river walks where you may see kingfishers, sparrow hawks and buzzards. St Asaph is home to a historic cathedral, dating back 1400 years in areas and holding the reputation of being the smallest, ancient cathedral in Britain. It is also renowned as the location where the Bible was translated into Welsh in the 16th century. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations, culminating for the last few years in a television finale, broadcast from the cathedral. St Asaph offers numerous amenities and activities, from traditional pubs, to gastronomic dining experiences, numerous craft and gift shops and local clubs offering a 9-hole golf course, horse riding, angling, and crown green bowling, as well as a thriving leisure centre and the Tweedmill Retail Outlet. A superb holiday location for exploring this picturesque area of North Wales.
