  • "What a wonderfully warm welcome we received on our arrival."

The welcome gifts were much appreciated and sending us a message on route to say that we could access the property early enabled us to make really good use of our travelling day. Sarah also provided information regarding local shops so we could pick up some necessaries on the way. The owners were always available via text if we needed anything. The cottage was perfect for our Autumn getaway, comfortable, peaceful and well equipped. It was so nice to look out at the night time sky without surrounding light pollution to spoil the view. Breakfast time entertainment was provided on a daily basis by the free range chickens scampering headlong across the outdoor seating area.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We’re so pleased that you had such a wonderfully, relaxing autumnal stay and thoroughly enjoyed the cottage, surroundings and our funny little brood of chickens It was such a pleasure to meet you both and we hope to see you again in the future Property Owner

  • "Immaculate cottage with everything you need."

Everything is finished to a high standard. Comfortable beds. The boiler room could do with ventilation as the smell of fuel oil can become obtrusive. A word of warning for those with dogs, there are chickens roaming around the property.

Thank you for your kind comments about the cottage and for letting me know about the fan not working, I fitted a new one today. Thank you also for reminding those with dogs about being careful with our lovely free range chickens Happily providing lovely, tasty white or blue eggs for all of ours guests Property Owner

The kitchen lacked cupboard space. The television reception was intermittent on some channels. Overall we had an enjoyable week and the location was bliss.

Comfortable, clean and quiet. Room to move around with a wheeled walker if mum needed it. The kitchen was also well equipped with everything we needed and the fresh eggs from the resident free range hens were delicious. We had a fantastic stay, Thankyou Fran and Sarah!

  • "The cottage is located on a farm which is a mile from Harome and is an incredibly peaceful location."

The owners are nearby, very friendly and responded to our one query immediately. As described there are many wild creatures to spot including a levret which came to the kitchen door one morning, several white hens and across the fields we spotted a dozen or so hares roaming wild. The location was perfect for us for both walking and sight seeing. Walks from Hutton le Hole go well into the moors where the heather is blooming. Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Richmond, Fountains and Byland Abbeys are within an hours drive with Rievaulx on the doorstep. We won’t hesitate to book again. Thank you Sarah and Fran.

It was a real pleasure to meet you both and we’re so happy that you had such a wonderful time enjoying the wildlife and exploring the beautiful local area. There is so much to see and do in Ryedale and the North York Moors National park and we look forward to seeing you again in the future. Best regards, Fran and Sarah. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is beautifully decorated to a very high standard."

There is a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to make a meal. The beds are comfortable with black out curtains in both rooms. The location is great, easy to travel around to other parts of Yorkshire. We went to Saltburn on sea, an hour away. Helmsley walled garden and the birds of prey centre were great. Scarborough, Pickering, Thornton le Dale, all accessible from here. The cottage was in a lovely spot, we saw hares, rabbits, buzzard, yellowhammer just sat in the garden. The owners are very friendly and approachable and we really appreciated the little treats left for us. We will definitely return.

Thank you for your kind comments. We’re so happy that you had such a wonderful trip and enjoyed watching the wildlife and exploring the area. It was lovely to meet you and I’m pretty sure baby Nell thought so too! Hope to see you again sometime soon Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful 10 days staying at Low Grounds cottage."

We spent many hours watching the hares in the paddock along with the partridges, rabbits, deer and not forgetting the chickens! The cottage was very comfortable with everything we needed supplied. Sarah is lovely and responded to any query very quickly. We visited Castle Howard, Nunnington Hall, Helmsley Walled Garden, RHS Harlow Carr, RSPB at Filey to see the puffins, Whitby (try the Woof and chips at the Magpie) and Grassington, there’s so much to see in the area. We had Sunday lunch at both the Star in the village and also at the Plough in Wombleton, both lovely. What a find this cottage was, we will definitely be back.

Thank you so much! We’re so happy that you had such a lovely trip and got to explore so many of the wonderful local attractions. • "Lovely comfortable cosy cottage surrounded by beautiful countryside."

They have also planted the garden area with wildlife friendly plants. Great place to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed spotting the hares in the fields on the drive up to the farm, watching the free range hens wandering around & bird spotting from the French doors in the kitchen. Sarah and husband were very welcoming and all communications we had were answered quickly. There is a lot to see in this area we particularly enjoyed Nunnington hall & Sutton bank visitor centre. Had a fabulous Sunday lunch at The Plough Inn Wombleton. Unfortunately didn’t sample many other restaurants in the area as we couldn’t get a table. So we would pre book a little more next time we come up this way. Overall a lovely holiday.

Thank you so much for the fabulous feedback, we’re so happy that you had such a wonderful time and got to enjoy the wildlife too. It was a pleasure to meet you and feel free to get in touch beforehand next time for some more restaurant and sightseeing recommendations Property Owner
