  • "We had a very enjoyable week staying in this lovely cosy cottage."

It was scrupulously clean, the bed was comfy and the kitchen had everything we required, although we didn't do any cooking, the local pub took care of Sunday lunch and we ate out the rest of the time! The addition of a delicious Victoria sponge cake on arrival was an added bonus. I would definitely recommend this accommodation for a thoroughly enjoyable base from which to explore the North York Moors or as a romantic getaway from the outside world (no phone signal most of the time!).

  • "Unreservedly recommended!"

Beech Farm Cottage is beautifully located in the North York Moors National Park; the cottage itself is well maintained, well thought out and very warm and cosy and peaceful. My visit was at the beginning of the Corona Virus outbreak so some aspects of my holiday were curtailed but the cottage proved to be a very welcome haven. I did manage a trip to Whitby on the train as the train station in Danby is only a 10 minute stroll away. I didn't see much of the owners (for obvious reasons) during my stay but I was left a lovely Victoria sponge for my arrival - so thoughtful! I intend to book another break here as soon as I can!

Quiet, scenic and a rural location to be envied. Yet, close to coastal honey spot destinations such as Stathes, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay and the Esk Valley Railway. In Autumn, why goes to New England when you can enjoy the colour of the Moors and trees in the valleys!

The cottage was well located for us to take visits every day to Redcar down to south of Filey on the coast and inland to lovely places like Helmesley, Pickering, Thornton-le-Dale etc. For those who like walking, 2 pubs, a lovely bakery and coffee shop, and a well stocked health food shop are nearby as well as the North Yorkshire Dales National Park Centre. However, everything else was brilliant! The lounge was very comfortable and open, with lots of natural light. There was a wide selection of games and freeview TV in case of bad weather (it is Yorkshire) and the kitchen very modern with all of the amenities including a large fridge and freezer, proper cooker and dishwasher. Everything was spotlessly clean. Upstairs there is a massive hallway, great for storing the bags and cases, a good sized bedroom and the bathroom is en-suite. A very large shower in the bathroom is wonderful, and again the bathroom itself is fully modernised. No bath, but that never bothered us. Outside is a lovely little garden overlooking the valley, great for hot summer evenings and a bottle of wine! Or you could visit the pub, about 15 minutes away. (I can recommend the Sunday lunch). The owners, who live next door, are very welcoming but not demanding and their dog Charlie is lovely. Oh and the cake was delicious. What else? Free WiFi is useful. Whitby is about half an hour away and there are lots of little coastal towns to visit like Staithes and Sandsend, which are a bit closer. Overall a lovely place and we would definitely stay there again.
