The cottage was basic but warm and cosy in the most wonderful location. RIght by the River Esk and the viaduct (Cinder Track). Parked up and did not get back in the car until we had to leave. Walk along the CInder Track - 20 minutes into the middle of Whitby or 2 hours to Robin Hood's Bay or take other public footpaths - the river walk from Ruswarp to Whitby Swim in the pool on site. Perfect. Don't forget to go up to the Abbey - next to it is Whitby microbrewery - try the Black Death - you can walk back so no need to drive! Local shops coming out of Whitby are excellent for fast food (home made cottage pie etc or bacon/sausage butty etc) and everyone is so friendly!
