The property

Whitby 1 mile.

This lovely, townhouse, mews-style property is situated in a small, modern development, one mile from the popular seaside town of Whitby.

In an elevated position, overlooking the River Esk and the historic viaduct, the property offers very comfortable family accommodation.

The sitting room is tastefully furnished, with quality leather sofas and a cosy electric woodburner- effect fire, creating a warm and homely feel.

An archway leads into the bright and spacious, well-equipped kitchen, with a dining area to one end.

From here, patio doors lead out onto a small, south-facing decked patio, a sheltered spot, affording fine views over open countryside and distant hills.

Upstairs, are three charming bedrooms, including a double room boasting a balcony, an ideal place to catch a glimpse of the passing steam trains!

A short meander down to the banks of the River Esk brings you to an abundance of wildlife, with kingfishers, swans, ducks and seals regularly seen in this tidal river, an absolute delight for nature lovers.

Although the property is in a peaceful setting, a short walk brings you to the hustle and bustle of this atmospheric seaside resort, with its cobbled market place, narrow quirky streets and excellent array of pubs, tea rooms and restaurants.

Children will love the long, sandy beaches, complete with donkey rides, while and a must is a climb up the 199 age-worn steps to the famous Whitby Abbey, perched high on the hill with stunning coastal views.

The surrounding area has a wealth of attractions, including the spectacular scenery of the North York Moors, pretty villages such as Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes, The Moors National Park Centre nearby Danby, along with the steam train at Grosmont.
