  • "Great holiday cottage, only one very small issue was we lost tv signal for 2 or 3 mins twice during the week, just a minor inconvience."

  • "Excellent Property situated alongside the ‘Cinder Track’ which enabled us to leave the Car & walk into Whitby, Ruswarp (where there is a superb Butchers & Riverside Cafe) & access the Costal Path."

Property was very clean & everything worked. Nice to sit on the Balcony & enjoy the views of the Viaduct which carries the Cinder path across the River Esk. Would definitely visit again. Car parking was not clearly marked out or controlled was a minor observation but we had no problems during our stay,

  • "Overall a lovely place to stay."

The only negative was the soft mattresses and poor pillows.

Hi Claire ,Thanks for your feedback. We are very sorry that you were not satisfied with the mattress and pillows ,this is the first time guests have brought this to our attention. Unfortunately this is down to personal preference ! Thanks for booking with us and take care . Property Owner

  • "Smart property with all mod cons in a new development near the river Esk in quiet surroundings."

It is near the Cinder Track viaduct (old railway track) whereby you can walk into Whitby in about 15 minutes, or the other way 5 miles to Robin Hoods Bay. Whitby itself and the whole coastal area is lovely, and you have the North York Moors nearby.

This cottage is exceptionally clean and has absolutely everything you need . 3 generations of our family and our dog all agreed it was perfect for us . We will definitely return in the near future. A beautifully kept cottage in the perfect spot .

  • "A very well equipped property which was very easy to settle in to."

The description of the property was totally accurate. Some lovely walks straight from the front door and only 5 minutes by car to the centre of Whitby. Child friendly as there is a communal grassed area at the rear of the property where all the children staying in the residences played very nicely with each other. Would book again with no hesitation in recommending to other Sykes clients. Service from Sykes all through the process excellent as usual.

  • "Very nice, comfortable cottage."

Bigger inside than expected. Super clean and all home comforts you’d need. Having the balcony was an added bonus. Really peaceful area. Although not a fan of communal gardens it was good for children to make friends and you do have your own designated area. Very dog friendly which was appreciated (our dog had a lovely time). Other feedback - couldn’t get bedroom TV channels to work (wasn’t overly bothered though) and an extra bin liner would be handy. Would def book again!

  • "Location of cottage is excellent."

About 20 mins walk into Whitby, along a well used and maintained cinder track. It is part of a small private development of self catering cottages. Cottage very warm and well equipped, although it would have been nice to have had a DVD player, as listed, as we had a couple of days of inclement weather.

  • "This is a lovely comfortable Cottage."

It had been newly decorated and felt very fresh and clean.A group of us and our dog had a lovely Christmas stay here. There are three warm and comfortable bedrooms on the second floor, with a nice toilet / bathroom. There is a another toilet downstairs too.The Kitchen is spacious with a dining area and is very well equipped.Waddleduck is about a half an hours very pleasant walk from the centre of Whitby. If you fancy a change from Whitby, you can stroll down to The Bridge Inn at Ruswarp. This takes about twenty-five minutes and we would thoroughly recommend this as you'll get a warm welcome, and they serve excellent food and beers. The owner of the Cottage,Mrs. Bowles was very helpful and sent us some chocolates and a bottle of wine,on our arrival. We would certainly stay here again.Thank you John Clough.
