The property

Farm Cottage is a terraced cottage situated in Aislaby near Whitby, North Yorkshire.

It is set in a row of quaint Yorkshire cottages and offers the perfect base for exploring the Esk Valley.

Internally, the owners have renovated the property, but have kept many of the old features, such as the thick stone walls, and exposed beams which give the cottage a mass of character.

Step through the door and into the hallway where you can kick off your boots and thick coats and enter the spacious living room.

The lounge is a cosy room with a lovely brick fireplace housing a woodburning stove.

Two comfortable sofas offer a welcoming space for families to sit and relax in front of the flat screen TV.

Move towards the open-plan kitchen and diner can be found opposite the sitting room.

With its farmhouse style fitted units and modern appliances, the kitchen is bound to inspire some self-catering.

The dining area has a lovely electric fireplace to keep you warm while you enjoy a lovely home cooked meal with your loved ones, with seating for up to eight people.

There is even a TV available if you're in the middle of your favourite show and don't want to miss a single second!

The property has a wealth of antique artwork and photography which gives this cottage its character.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms: one double, one adult bunk and one twin (with additional pull out bed).

All bedrooms have a set of contemporary furniture.

Outside there is a front lawned garden and patio area with a roof to protect from any harsh weather and fitted lights for an evening relaxing with a glass of wine under the stars.

Nearby attractions include Pannett Park, which is host to a public park with a local history museum, a sunken pond and magnificent themed gardens, offering wonderful walking and sightseeing opportunities.

For those interested in the history of literature, then Dracula Experience Ltd is for you.

It offers unique tours of Dracula's history, as well as animated scenes and the dramatic special effects.

The village of Aislaby is located in the beautiful rolling countryside of the Esk Valley, overlooking Sleights and just three miles from Whitby. A small rural village, quiet and secluded, Aislaby is a thriving community of pretty sandstone cottages clustered around a main street and a thriving community served by the old church and Forge Inn. By cycling, walking, or driving in the surrounding area, guests can visit Egton's famous church of St Hedda with its painted ceiling, walk through the beautiful Arncliffe Woods, discover the historic North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Grosmont, or explore the old mill on the banks of the River Esk. The location is also ideal for exploring the spectacular North York Moors and the many small fishing villages and resort towns of this beautiful coastline. Nearby Whitby, once the home of Captain James Cook, is a charming, atmospheric town of winding streets and hidden alleys, with a picturesque harbour, safe sandy beaches, a broad range of eateries and award-winning fish and chips, and of course the Abbey, which inspired Bram Stoker, reached by the famous 199 steps.
