  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Lavender Cottage."

It was well equipped with everything we needed. Loved the covered shelter in the garden for outdoor living. Bed was extremely comfortable and was impressed with the Alexa, which we made use of, when having our evening meal. Village pub very handy and all the staff really friendly. Great base for travelling to all the coastal areas, Hornsea was our favourite. Lovely Yorkshire hospitality everywhere we went and our dog got loads of attention too!!

Thank you for the lovely feedback. I’m really pleased you enjoyed your stay. I’m sorry you felt the cleanliness was only 75%, please could you advise me how I can improve on this. I am always looking to improve in all areas so any feedback would be appreciated and acted on immediately. Many thanks Debbie Property Owner

The cottage itself is fabulous well kitted out, comfortable and quiet. The owner Debbie very efficient and attentive. I booked this week as a weeks respite, first break away from my 2 disabled boys in 23 years, I couldn't have asked for a better week. Thank you so much ❤️

  • "From the minute we arrived, the property was welcoming!"

Everything was nicely thought-out, for a small property it had everything you needed. The garden area was a nice space, again thought out well, secure for our four legged friend and an enjoyable garden room. The layout of the interior was lovely and comfortable too! Ideal sperate dinning area and doubled up as a separate area to relax in when needed. I would be more than happy to stay again in the future.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. I’m really pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. I’d love to welcome you all back again.x Property Owner

  • "We stayed at Lavender Cottage Monday to Friday and had a fabulous time."

Everything we needed was there and more. There was an airfreight which was a lovely surprise as we are trying to eat healthy. The Cottage is gorgeous and the outside is amazing. Sitting under the pergola in the morning sun with a coffee was great. Close to beach to take long walks with our dog was the perfect way to spend the day. Come back for evening meal in Black Horse just across the road which serves delicious food. Then a glass of wine in the garden. Everything was perfect and can't wait to go back

  • "A lovely cottage with everything you need and more - coffee pod machine and air fryer as well as some milk and treats to welcome us."

The outside covered area was a lovely space to sit with a coffee or a wine (depending in the time of day!). One of the nicest cottages I've stayed in, in a great village with a fab pub and very close to Hornsea and Bridlington. The only small issue was the parking space was very tight - and I don't have a big car, but we did manage it with a bit of manouvering.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback and for leaving the cottage so lovely and clean. It is really appreciated . I am really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back in the future. Regards Debbie x Property Owner

Our only comment would be we found the house a little cold and the heating was pre-programmed, maybe a plug in radiator would be an idea, many thanks

Thank you for your feedback and I’m really pleased to hear you found the cottage clean and comfortable. I’m sorry that you found it a little cold, it’s very hard at this time of year to get the heating just right. If I had known I would have come and raised the temperature of the radiators. Thank you also for leaving the cottage extremely clean and tidy. It is really appreciated. Regards Debbie Property Owner

We loved the garden, which was totally safe for the dog to run around in without escaping and even managed to sit out in the sun a few times. We visited the beach every day and particularly loved Fraisthorpe beach. Thank you Debbie for a lovely stay!

Central to other towns of Hornsea & Withernsea, shame no-one mentioned pub was closed

I’m pleased you enjoyed the cottage and thank you leaving it very tidy and clean. I’m sorry about the pub but it was due to re open after a refurbishment during your stay. I have just read that it was delayed and will now be open on the 10th November and they are starting to serve food from the 1st December. Regards Debbie x Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic week at this beautiful cottage, everywhere was spotless, comfortable, cosy and warm."

Owner very friendly and helpful. The lovely kitchen is well equipped to cook a full meal which we ate in the separate dining room. The lounge had comfy sofas and we used the log burner on the odd cold evening. The bedrooms were bright and airy with plenty of wardrobe space. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable which seems to be a rarity these days! The outside seating area was the icing on the cake, lovely to sit out late afternoon with a book and a glass of wine. We were lucky enough to catch good weather every day. Great walks right from the cottage door and interesting places to visit nearby. Really looking forward to booking here again.

  • "Upon arrival, we found the property to be clean & comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

The weather was good to us and there were lots of places to visit nearby. The only problems we found were that the property needs either darker blinds or a set of dark curtains in the bedrooms, due to light coming through early in the morning and the pub was closed (not the owners fault and the poor landlords) but this would not stop us visiting again.

Thank you for your feedback, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. I’m having the cottage decorated in October and am looking at putting a blackout roller blind behind the blinds in the bedroom to stop the light coming through. I have also just found out that the pub is having a refurbishment and will be open again in a few weeks which is good news. Regards Debbie Property Owner

Everything that you could possibly wish for to make for a very relaxing holiday. The photographs just don't do the property justice, property was clean and exceed expectations throughout. We loved coming back after a day out and sitting in the covered seating area outside. Location is very handy for access to sights and beaches. Really loved Beverley, Freisthorpe and Mappleton Beaches, our dog loved swimming in the sea here, and we were very fortunate to see seals at Flamborough Head. Fresh flowers on arrival was a welcome touch to make the property feel like home. Would recommend and would like to return another time. Lisa, Peter, Katie, and misty the cocker spaniel.

The garden is dog-friendly, lovely with plenty of space for outdoor dining and relaxing even with inclement weather. The cottage is clean and fresh with a modern kitchen. The wood-burning stove was fabulous for cosy nights beside the fire and reading. Our daughter made good use of the dining room for studying in the evening. It's so quiet here and the neighbours are very friendly and helpful. The Black Horse serves large pub meals and we ate there frequently, The Farm shop sells eggs as well as homemade jams and chutneys. The location is convenient for exploring the East Riding of Yorkshire. The host Debbie was helpful and communicative and responded to messages immediately. There were fresh flowers on arrival with a welcome pack of tea/coffee/sugar/milk as well as an Easter Egg for our daughter who was delighted. I highly recommend this cottage and encourage you to take advantage of the introductory offer prices because this delightful place won't stay so cheap next year!

  • "Fabulous, pretty little cottage, spotlessly clean, fresh flowers milk and biscuits on arrival which was a nice touch."

Within walking distance of a lovely traditional pub that did a superb Sunday Lunch. Outside space is lovely and would be well used in the summer, we did sit out a couple of times even though it was cold, February. Very quiet, not a lot to do in the village but within easy reach of Hornsea, Bridlington, Beverley. Normally only a short walk to the beach but due to a landslide access to the beach was not possible which was disappointing. Loved the pink front door!

Thank you for your lovely comments. I am really glad you enjoyed your stay. In regards to access to the beach you can now get down via the cliffs ( there has never been a proper path). It is a shame the landslide happened during your visit. Regards Debbie Property Owner
