  • "This is our second visit to Southview and our 12th visit to Barmston."

We love it here, it’s very peaceful but there’s plenty to do nearby. The cottage is immaculate and roomy and easy access to the beach. Plenty of parking outside the cottage.

  • "Lovely cottage."

Excellent quality. Unfortunately the washing machine was broken from day 1 and not repaired in the 10 days we were there, though the owner offered to reimburse the cost of a laundrette. Everything else was perfect. The housekeeper was really helpful.

The shower was in need of a good clean, generally it was ok but the drain was full of hairs and i would say it hadn,t been done for a very long time, im sorry to have to give this report because the overall situation was very good and we had a very good holiday

Ideal layout for elderly parent with slight mobility issues. Would suggest a handle at the side of the toilet and in the shower. Highly recommended

The close proximity to the beach and rural countryside are are an added bonus, especially for dog owners who can enjoy miles of unspoilt walks along country trails and the exceptionally nice and quiet beach. We had a great holiday and would certainly recommend this accommodation.

  • "Southview Bungalow is a very pleasant detached property set in a peaceful location and has Barmston beach within walking distance."

Everything was spotlessly clean, the kitchen is extremely well-equipped and all the furniture is comfortable. There really isn't much more you could want from a property. There is a patio area to the rear of the bungalow which is part paved and part pebbles. If I could suggest one improvement it would be to make this area fully paved. We have stayed in a few cottages on the east coast but Southview Bungalow is the best we have encountered so far. Hornsea, Fraisthorpe and Bridlington are only a few minutes away by car and there is a nearby public footpath which is a pleasant walk through fields to the village of Ulrome. We had a very enjoyable holiday, helped by good weather, and hope to return in the future if the property is available.

  • "Great little cottage, great for the beach- very clean and everything as described- good little enclosed area to the back of the cottage which is pebbled and has seating area and shade."

Felt very welcomed- good information from owner was provided. Our only niggle was the seating space in the living room. The sofa &chair really only suitable for 3 adults- and given we had 4, however, would not stop us from going back though. Was very quiet and felt very safe.

  • "I was there in a heat wave and the bungalow was very hot."

I was there alone so thankfully the second bedroom was not in use. It needs to be clear in the description that this second bedroom does not open to the outside. The windows open into the conservatory . Both were very hot. it would have been very uncomfortable sleeping in there in the heat and an exterior door would have had to be left open to get some fresh air in at night. Even without the heatwave I personally wouldn't want to sleep in the second bed room without being able to have fresh air coming in. Otherwise the bungalow was really nice and the location near the beach was perfect. Barmston is a lovely quiet beach

  • "The bungalow was a nice surprise as I don’t think the advertised picture shows it off to its potential."

Our main problem was not the bungalow but finding somewhere that served meals. Lovely area, very peaceful, friendly people and dog friendly. Bungalow is well maintained, fitted out to high standard. Nice welcoming gifts, highly recommended.

  • "We enjoyed our stay, and settled onto south view very easily."

It’s access to lots of lovely places, beach walks and towns within easy reach. From a comfort point of view I would have preferred comfy chairs in conservatory, thankfully we had folding deck chairs with us.well equipped bungalow overall, couldn’t fault this. Didn’t use tv though massive draw for some. My bonus being great runs and beaches from the door.
