Tesco express over the road ( expensive) Garden ideal if you've a dog Would recommend , very enjoyable but you've to enjoy walking if you like Scarborough front , or use the car if you don't want to walk

• "Quiet little cul-de-sac position perfect location to explore Scarborough and surrounding areas."

  Had everything we needed ( except lighter for gas hob ,but managed with microwave until we got one ).Comfy bed and hot powerful shower. I would say maybe could do with a deep clean ( cutlery drawer) and radiators a bit dusty. Cushions on sofas could do with replacing as flat making it difficult to get comfy. Overall as expected for rating and had an enjoyable weekend.

  Cosy and comfy, a quiet peaceful area .Off road parking space a bonus. Microwave a bit high for me but my husband could reach it ok . Although we have a car the cottage is easily accessible for buses so we had a run round to different places on buses( especially since we had our passes ).

  Another stay at this little gem of a cottage , absolutely loved it again and already booked for next year, everything you need is there and your own private parking a real bonus, the only thing I had a little issue with is the paving flags outside very uneven and tripped over them, I actually met the cleaner she is a lovely friendly lady and had the place spotless again looking forward to our next visit

  The cottage was lovely clean and commutable, and the coffee, tea and biscuit was a great touch. Plus the dog biscuit was an extra bonus. The only thing we could have done with was a clock and being able to watch Freeview on the tv. The next time we go to Scarborough we will definitely book Quarterdeck if it's available.

• "We absolutely loved our stay at this lovely little cottage."

  Both myself and my partner were extremely impressed with how clean and comfortable it was. The enclosed garden was great for our dog and the location of the cottage was super - just a short walk from the beach and other attractions. The little touches in this cottage really made us smile on arrival. A jar of dog biscuits and a selection of tea/coffee/ and biscuits for us made for a warm welcome. The towel rail did come off in the bathroom during our stay but it didn't affect us. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever about our stay. We can't wait to stay here again.

  Unfortunately dog poo not cleared in garden so didn't venture in. Next door, 5, very noisy and on last night still DIY ing at 2.30am, so had to drive home after a poor night's sleep. For this reason we would not return or recommend.

  We decided not to use the table so the lap trays were very useful. Very comfortable bed and sofas, a lovely large bathroom and a kitchen with all needed for a relaxing holiday. Wonderful holiday, thank you!

  Well stocked mini supermarket nearby. Very comfortable property with convenient enclosed garden. Easily accessible parking area. Our only suggestion would be to have waste bins in the living area & the bedroom.

• "If the property had been accurately described, we most probably not have booked it."

  It was one of 3 properties in a single small building. The space for off road parking, if that is what it was, was somewhat taken over by vegetation, though there was a reserved parking space. The garden area is not attached to the property which is what we thought from the description. More guidance on using some of the appliances would have been helpful.

  Thank you for your feedback. There are 2 parking spaces available for the property. I suspect you were thinking that the space in front of the house which is slated and has vegetation was for a car? The back garden is adjacent to the property and this is clear in the property write up with Sykes - I am sorry this was a surprise to you. I take on board your point about instructions for the appliances. I will look at making these available. I am always on the end of the phone to help if needed. Property Owner

• "This was our fifth visit to this property over several years."

  It is a very clean,comfortable and cosy house in a great location ten minutes from the beach with three pubs within ten minutes walk also. Many improvements have been to this property over time, and we will definitely be back again. The only slight negative thing is the uncomfortable settees which seems to be a recurring theme in most reviews, these have been at the property for as long as we have been going and are very tired so could do with being replaced.

  The location couldn’t have been any better. 5 mins walk to beach/Pub/Tesco extra/Waterpark. The cottage was very cosy and warm. It looks like there has been a full refurb to a high standard. The kitchen was well stocked with a new cooker. Upstairs bathroom lovely with a brilliant shower. The bed was very comfortable. Great value for money. We would highly recommend you try this cottage. • "Whilst property was clean, tidy, in good location, what let it down was very uncomfortable sofas, when you are all day walking, its nice to sit down and relax, not to end up with back ache from furniture that should have been replaced years ago, also our double bed was two singles put together, also not very comfortable, wifi was hit and miss, and one toilet roll for two adults for one week is ridiculous, we wont be back for sure."

  The only negative was the settee that turned into a bed if required it was very un comfortable to sit on apart from that everything was perfect.

  DEFINATELY A HAZARD bum nearly on the floor. Bathroom not been cleaned upon arrival. Garden no lighting. Solar lighting would be good. No way for dogs to see. . Not next to property. Expected to clea whole house before leaving. Vacum made house smell. Upon arrival strong smell of dog urine. Spent money on joss sticks to stem the smell. Possibly wood floor or lino would help with smell. Soft furnishing need cleaning. Awful smelly....maybe owner to spot check cleaners occasionally. We spend extra to have houses cleaned,yes we clean as we do at home,but think it's a check to do thorough deep clean upon leaving as we didn't find this on arrival. 2nd time we booked expected sofas to been replaced. . Plants front garden should be trimmed so front windows can be opened too give fresh air. Some little snag lists to be repaired plugs small fingers can get in. Taps loose etc. Possibly owners to stay clear for weekend to see how it is for clients.

I have taken your comments on board and will be making some improvements: - There will be a deep clean of all soft furnishings. - One of the sofas will be replaced. - Vacumn cleaner filters have been replaced. - There are no plants obstructing the opening of the windows - the hydrangea have been in full bloom at the front of the house and will be dead-headed now that they have finished flowering. - Snag list will be created and addressed.   The location of the property is amazing a quiet area and only 5 mins. walk to the beach. Plenty of pubs/restaurants close by and very near to the water park and Peasholm park. Would certainly recommend a stay at Quaterdeck and ideal for a couple with a dog.

  They both sag tremendously in the middle so much so you need a hand of get yourself up from them. Also the bed is a zip linked and is far too soft you roll into the middle. Sadly I won’t be visiting this accommodation a third time. After my first experience I thought perhaps the owner would change the furniture but alas she hasn’t. So no more for me, pity as I do love to visit Scarborough every year sometimes twice. But not in this accommodation.

  We enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas all within an easy car journey or a walk into Scarborough We would suggest getting your outside light changed as it is not of any use at present, not bright enough. Although you state enclosed garden it is not enclosed to the property for dogs, you have to go with them to the garden although only a few metres away, our dog could also fit under the gap next to the gate. Overall though a lovely stay in a homely environment and would thoroughly recommend. Thanks for the wine and the dog treats on arrival, a thoughtful touch.

• "The place was clean and usable,,,, but a number of improvements could be made :- The picture even on your email and online information is misleading it gives the impression of the place being a bigger place not converted into two small units with side doors."

  .. lots of noisy floorboards need fixing Microwave in kitchen needs to be sorted as its dangerous, for two reasons almost fulls of the wall just one screw holding it up and the brackets are all wrong,,, 2nd its to high would be very easy to tip hot contenance over oneself Door of bathroom does not fit. Shower hard to use cannot get to the taps without getting into it, awkward when just doing ones hair etc, table under the stairs is very tight, Would suggest a re think down stairs perhaps remove the wall from the kitchin to the living area remove the two old pull out beds and put some 90 degree nice seating there from the side wall under the window to the kitching side, also placing a table there, the heating could go under the stairs...... a small wishing machine dryer could be fitted under a kitchen unit next to the sink,,, Kind Regards

  Only a five minute walk from the beach. Handy shop at the top of the road (tesco express ). Cottage was very clean and a nice wee easter treat for ourselves and our dog was left for us! Would highly recommend this cottage!
