The property

This attractive mid-terraced cottage is peacefully situated in the small, rural village of Nawton, halfway between the historic market towns of Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside.

Beautifully renovated to a high standard, the cottage has a spacious country-style kitchen with a bright and cheerful feel and a dining area in the window.

A small conservatory leads from the kitchen, an ideal spot to enjoy a relaxed cup of coffee before heading out for the day.

Be sure to visit Castle Howard and the tranquil settings of Rievaulx and Byland Abbeys, where there are wonderful walking and cycling trails.

The lively seaside towns of Scarborough and Whitby are within an easy drive, with their long sandy beaches, pretty harbours and boat trips.

The small, pretty village of Nawton lies three miles from the historic market and castle towns of Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside. The main village street is lined with stone built cottages, and has an excellent pub serving food, a fish and chip shop and a pub converted into an Indian restaurant. Surrounded by the stunning countryside of the North York Moors, it is ideally situated for great walking opportunities. Nearby, picturesque Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside are a delight to explore, with quaint tea rooms, individual shops, galleries and good restaurants. The market town of Pickering, ten miles away, is well worth a visit with the North York Moors Steam Railway and Pickering Castle. There are a wealth of places to visit in the area including the stately homes and gardens of Castle Howard and Duncombe House & Park, Rievaulx Abbey, Nunnington Hall and the historic City of York with its famous minster, viking dig and city walls. The East Coast seaside resorts of Whitby and Scarborough are within easy reach and offer good, sandy beaches, donkey rides and famous fish and chips!
