  • "Lovely lodge clean and comfy."

Just a couple of little niggles was mouldy bread cakes in the bread bin, broken plug on vac and the road noise with been very close to the busy road.

Thanks for letting us know Mick, we will advise the cleaners that the bread bin was not checked- this is part of their remit. Also we will replace the broken plug charger for the vac- thank you for letting us know. We hope you will come back again Property Owner

  • "Had a lovely getaway, the property was nice, modern and tidy, however could of done with a good hoover as there was a lot of dog hairs especially on the carpet or even provide a hoover in the property so we could of used it."

We had a problem accessing the heating, despite the lovely weather in the day, every morning the property got really cold which resulted in my 1 year old to wake up frequently early hours because she was cold, we contacted Sykes who kindly spoke to the owner regarding the issue and we was told the owner could not do anything as they was 4 hours away, no other help or information was given, we tried everything but the heating would just not work so we ended up having to buy a plug in heater :( One other thing I would like to mention is information on where to take your rubbish, there was no signs or information where the on site waste bins are we had to contact Sykes to ask, maybe just add it to the information sheet in the folder so that other guests know where they are, and also provide a hoover. Despite those mentioned above we did enjoy our stay and we would recommend this property to others and also return in the future :)

  • "What a nightmare."

Booked for 3 nights and due to the massive lorries going past we were up at 4am first morning, 5am second morning and 4.55am third morning. When we were put into this cabin we asked for a reduction due to this to be told NO as its in the description. This really wasn't acceptable as this was not the cabin we booked. We booked Happy Daze and because it was left in such a state by the previous people with urine soaking in the bed etc it was not fit to live in so we were offered Lazy Daze. We had no choice as we had driven 3hrs with our dog in the back and we were just put on the spot. We said we were not happy and asked for a reduction then all of a sudden we were offered Happy Daze again saying it is now OK. Clearly not as I went to look and the cleaners had left all the doors and windows open due to the smell and you expected us to move into it, Really!! Clearly my reviews will take this all into consideration.

We are so sorry Mr Slater. The previous guests will never be allowed back to our lodges again, but that does not help you. We did offer a meal for your family for your inconvience but did not hear anything back from Sykes. We have had a very big learning curve with the booking into Happy Daze prior to your stay. We were taking advise from the cleaners, the site manager and Sykes as to the ongoing situation. I hope we can compensate you in the future. Again our sincere apologies- and i hope the previous guests read your review. Property Owner

  • "We were warned about the road noise but didn’t truly anticipate that it would start at 4."

30am and would be large artic lorries and a drag for the boy racers later at night too. Although it states it sleeps 6 I do think it needs to be noted this could not be 6 adults. The table only seats 4 and the seating the room is not enough for 6. The pull out sofa bed only takes one adult and 2 small children at best. The location is good in terms of an east walk to the beach and along to Bridlington. However, if you are away to not cook (like us we down tools for a few days lol) be aware ordering can be a nightmare as it’s not yet on their systems I.e just eat so bear in mind as it took over an hour and twenty minutes one night but this is no fault of the owner just to make people aware The lodge is beautiful in decor and upkeep and was cleaned and tidy on arrival which always makes thing nice when arriving to see that and not worry about who has been before.

Hi, sorry you did not enjoy the holiday, i must admit the lodge is not made for 6 adults, but to be quite honest i do not think that many are. Our lodge at the back Brighter Daze is a bigger lodge, but as normal the sleeping arrangements are the same. I would probably suggest you need a 3 bedroom that sleeps 8 or 10, would suit 6 adults. Bread and milk was left which was good. Only downside was when we booked this a while ago there was no reviews and no note about the road. This is on a main road and all that separates this lodge from the road is a small hedge which means there is a lot of noise from the road at times. The site was a good base. Would return to the site but not to this lodge would look for a lodge further away from the road.

thanks for the positive notes, we are trying to get additional plantation to improve the noise issue Property Owner

  • "When we originally saw Lazy Daze on Sykes website, the property details were good, it had no reviews and it wasn't showing the exact location of the park on Google maps as it didn't exist as it a new holiday park, just somewhere in some fields set back from any road."

So we booked it for a week. Two weeks before we were due to go we noticed 5 reviews about the lodge mentioning the fact that the location of the lodge was next to a very busy road and how noisy it was! I rang Sykes to check this out they said they would look into this with the owner, they got back in touch next day saying there is nothing they could do about the location and that the property details stated it was near a road, it didn't when I booked in July!! Sykes also told me they expect all their customers to do their own research on a property and its location before they book? Which I did, and after several messages back and forth , they finally added a note on their website in the property details about the location of the property being next to a busy road and to expect some associated traffic noise. Well done Sykes and the owner for finally adding this very important fact , this is great news for people booking in the future but not for me. If I'd have known this I would never have booked it. On arrival the lodge was modern , clean , well equipped, (an iron and a proper kettle would have been nice ) and the bedrooms were a bit compact but overall happy with it. However the main issue with the lodge was its location, the lodge is probably only about 10 feet away from a very busy main road A614 separated by a thin newly planted hedgerow. So from 5.30am until around 10pm, all you could hear inside was the constant buzz of traffic. We spent as much time as we could out and about as the weather was great and the small park the lodge was on was a good base for sightseeing. It wasn't great sitting outside to enjoy the sun even with headphones in, or to eat a meal as it was also next to a working farm so large agricultural vehicles passed constantly and the debris, straw and dust from the loads blew everywhere not to mention the smells!. There are another 3 lodges next to Lazy Daze and talking to some other holidaymakers there, the main topic of conversation was the proximity to the road! We only stayed 5 days as we had gone for a peaceful, relaxing break and couldn't wait to get home for some peace and quiet. Such a shame that the lovely lodges are sited so close to the busy road, definitely not for anyone who is looking for a quiet , peaceful, relaxing break!

So sorry that you felt disappointed with your break. This is a new venture for us and we welcome all feedback, both positive and constructive. We will take on board your comments Property Owner

  • "Mixed review."

We stayed in Lazy Daze lodge in Bridlington. The lodge itself was lovely and clean, smelt fresh and new when we opened the door (I believe they were only installed in 2021). It took us a few minutes to find the key safe as it blends in (it’s almost opposite the door attached to the fence). Everything worked fine. The “kettle” in the kitchen was a little odd, it’s a drinks machine which boils water very quickly, but the water quantity vs mug size doesn’t match, so you either end up with half a cup, or it overflows. The main downside to this lodge is it’s position. It’s right next to a busy main road, there is a small hedge in between, but that doesn’t stop the noise. There’s a constant flow of traffic (cars, lorries, tractors, farming machinery) all day long from around 5.30am until 10pm. Oh, and on some days the drain cleaning lorry arrives at 7am and empties the drain system directly behind Lazy Daze lodge. Thankfully the road does quieten down overnight, but we couldn’t wait to leave the lodge during the day to get away from the constant drone of traffic. Hazy Daze lodge is the lodge next door, so it’s a little bit further away from the road, but I don’t think it will be much better than Lazy Daze as far as road noise is concerned. We will not be going back to Lazy Daze because of the road noise, which is a shame as the lodge itself is lovely.

So glad you found the lodge clean , tidy and well equipped, the kettle is eco friendly only heating the water needed- (trying to think of the planet). The key safe is situated directly opposite the door on the balcony decking- we will ask Sykes to add that to the specification, luckily no-one has had any problems finding it previously. We are sorry to hear that you found the road noisy. It is stipulated in the write up it is on a busy road. The landscaping will thicken up over time to deflect from any noise in the future, We have 3 alternative lodges on the site if you wish to return. Property Owner

It was clean and comfortable throughout, plus the interior and external layout was ideal for us as a couple of adults with a medium size pet dog. The location of the lodge in Carnaby made it a perfect base from where it was easy to travel to all those places we planned to visit diring our stay whist not being to close to them.

Unable to connect to WiFi as password was not accepted. The lodge itself was lovely and clean and well thought out. Plenty of room to move around which was a big bonus for us as we were all disabled. We have booked to go again in a couple of weeks with another 2 people joining us and still feel that Lazy Daze can still meet all our needs.
