Bryan and Christine were exceptional. They greeted us with smiles and friendliness which was lovely after a tiring journey. The property itself is fantastic (i am a fussy person) it met to my criteria so well done. We both enjoyed the surroundings so pretty and rural. So perfect if you want to get away from it all. As we were the first ever guests we want to wish this lovely couple every success. Well done Bryan and Christine.

The property

On the outskirts of Langdale End, between Thornton Dale and Scalby.

Boasting captivating views of the nearby Dalby Forest is this idyllic stone-built cottage, Baillie Close.

This North Yorkshire accommodation enjoys a tranquil location and is perfectly suited for a couple seeking to explore the delights of the rolling countryside and the sublime coastline of the stunning North Yorkshire moors, with the popular resort town of Scarborough within striking distance of this base.

After soaking up the surroundings, and admiring the wildlife, be welcomed into this idyllic retreat for rest and relaxation, complete with everything you and your partner could possibly need.

Kick off your muddy walking boots within the porch, which offers comfortable seating for enjoying the peace, tranquility and wildlife watching, should the weather be inclement.

Beyond here is the open-plan living room which enjoys a refreshing colour palette and several charming touches to ensure a wonderful base for you and your partner to return to each evening.

Make the most of the contemporary kitchen area which offers comfortable dining with views and sounds of the forest, as well as boasting all the essential appliances to cater for yourselves during the week-long break.

After dinner relax with a cup of tea or glass of wine, and watch the sunset through the trees, or settle down to watch one of the two smart TVs complete with Netflix for those chilled evenings.

The interior is completed by a well-presented king-size bedroom which houses a smart TV and a well-appointed en-suite, with a walk-in shower, basin and WC.

During a balmy evening, spend a moment or two upon the private patio area, where you can enjoy a spot of alfresco dining, and as the evening draws to a close, look forward to a spot of stargazing due to the lack of light pollution this superb location features.

A choice of traditional pubs can be found within a 10 mile radius along the local country roads.

To keep you busy whilst staying here, venture slightly further to the coastal town of Scarborough, where you will be delighted to find two glorious beaches, a historic castle and a Japanese-style landscaped park.

For those feeling adventurous, venture to the nearby Dalby Forest, where you will find a magnitude of walks and cycling routes, as well as Go Ape for those adrenaline seekers.

Baillie Close is a tranquil retreat where traffic noise is substituted by the sound of nature and the call of wildlife.
