    Although, a lot of dead flies around, and the mattress could be more comfortable otherwise great stay.

The property

Thirsk 5.8 miles.

The beautifully decorated, detached house of South Villa resides in Borrowby near Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

This attractive abode not only offers spacious accommodation but lets a family of eight enjoy their break in style, thanks to the well-presented interiors that enjoy a mixture of rustic and sleek décor.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by an off-road parking space, where you can leave your car before venturing inside this fabulous home-from-home.

Make your way to the kitchen/diner and be dazzled by a bright and pleasant space featuring vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and a fantastic array of farmhouse-style units where a variety of appliances can be found and used to make delicious meals with.

When dinner is ready, savour it as a quick bite to eat at the bistro table under the skylights or settle down in the dining area to enjoy a sit-down meal with all the family; why not switch on the wall-mounted TV for some extra entertainment?

After dinner, settle down in one of two charming sitting areas, a snug and sitting room, both enjoying original fireplaces that house woodburning stoves, along with plush seating for you to unwind on.

Additionally, there is a study nearby where you can relax in a little more privacy, with a book, perhaps?

When the day winds to a close, pick one of the four tastefully decorated bedrooms inhabiting the abode, including three on the first floor, two lovely king-sizes and a single, that enjoy access to a fabulous bathroom that boasts a bath and a separate walk-in shower.

Continue upstairs again to the second floor to find a marvellous family room with a double and day bed, along with an en-suite shower room.

A short drive will bring you to Thirsk, where your amenities await in one, convenient setting, as well as the highly popular museum of The World of James Herriot, a perfect outing for any history buffs, along with the local racecourse that holds regular events and a nearby golf club that is bound to entice any putting fans!

Head to Osmitherley, a quaint village that acts as one of the gateways to the North York Moors National Park, where keen anglers can fish at the Cod Beck Reservoir, walkers can embark on a hike across the moorland from Square Corner, before finishing off the day with a visit to the delightful Mount Grace Priority with its beautiful gardens.

Why not visit Ripon, where you can tour the impressive Cathedral, visit the fascinating attraction of the Prison & Police Museum and the Workhouse Museum, before strolling through the stunning Ripon Spa Gardens.

Further afield lies the city of York, home to a plethora of gorgeous architecture and historic delights, along with the rest of the vast North York Moors National Park with its moorland, coastline and woodland waiting to be explored.
