  • "We had a very good stay in Old Manor Cottage."

It was very clean and beds, sitting room chairs etc all very comfortable. It was nice being in a thriving village with a very good Costa, Post Office, baker, two pubs, fish and chip shop, Chinese restaurant and Church! We arrived on Good Friday when both the fish and chip shop (next door) and the pub (opposite) were very busy but inside the cottage was very quiet and sitting out in the back courtyard always seemed peaceful. It's an excellent base for exploring east Yorkshire.

  • "This is a really nice cottage in a lovely village."

It is situated next to a chip shop, across from the pub and 100 yards from two shops. It is quiet, clean and has all the basic facilities you will need. The only worry was the cold bathroom, with no way to turn up the radiator. But this wouldn’t be a problem in summer. That aside, we would happily visit again.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry to hear about the bathroom and will look into this issue immediately. The bathroom radiator when turned fully on is very hot, the usual temperature of a radiator and it doesn't sound as if it was hot enough? We will check if there is a fault. The only time we have had a problem with this before is when a previous guest had turned it right down (the heat control knobs are at the bottom). Thank you for letting us know. We are always available to address any problems during the stay, as we are keen that our guests have a warm and comfortable holiday. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

Also close to the coast - Hornsea and further north - and near to Beverley and Hull. The cottage is warm and cosy and comfortable, and very clean. We will be visiting again.

  • "This is our second visit."

We had an issue with WIFI that was resolved very quickly. Thankyou. The place is well located and has all you need as a family. The stairs to the first floor are difficult if your older like me. It would be great to have a fan in the bedrooms as it was very hot this time. You do get the smells from the fish shop next door which made us hungry and noise from people parking outside leaving engines running . This is a great holiday cottage well located for us. Thankyou

  • "Lovely quiet village and a great base for visiting Yorkshire."

The chop shop next door can get busy and they don't cater for veggies as beef fat is used, as all over Yorkshire! We were not aware of this as it was our first Yorkshire visit. Gorgeous place though!

The owners were also very friendly and accommodating especially if there was anything we needed. We were surprised at how comfy the mattress in the bedroom was and a lot of the furnishings seemed to be quite new which was nice. Also location is great as you have everything you need on your doorstep e.g. Pubs, shop, takeaways, bus stop, etc. And also within easy reach of good country walks. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

  • "The cottage was warm and clean and beautifully decorated."

The owner had put a lovely Christmas tree and some other decorations up for us. There was a Christmas basket left for us with some chocolates, biscuits, a Christmas table cloth and some crackers in which was a lovely touch. We had a fantastic Christmas there. The fish and chips in the shop next door was superb but we would not recommend the Chinese.
