The decking area is not gated so if you have small children or pets you'll be kept on your toes as the orchid backs on to abusy b road which has large farmers gate in the corner with direct access to the road also an increase in road noise as all the trees have just been lopped Lodge and tub are excellent

  • "Very nice Lodge comfortable and clean."

Enjoyed the hot tub. Only thing we found disappointing was the kitchen utensils, there was no oven gloves or grill pan handle. The frypan was unusable as the non stick coating was all coming off. Not nice at all we had to buy our own.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in the Hidden Gem Lodge."

The only things that let it down were that the kettle was full of limescale so we had to boil water in a pan on the hob to make our morning cuppas and that the oven took ages to cook anything so we tried to just use the hob. Other than those two minor things everything else was perfect and we would come again!

One slight drawback, the bed in the master bedroom was extremely uncomfortable

The host was friendly and was staying on site if we had any issues. Really enjoyed the stay will be hoping to book again in the future.

  • "Lovely and comfortable lodge."

Large decking area with hot tub. Real treasure you have here. Not far from tourist attractions in a quiet area. Couldn't fault it and would definitely stay here again if in the area.

  • "The lodge is situated in a more private area of the site."

It has a large deck area with plenty of comfortable seating, a dining area and a lovely hot tub, which overlooks a grassed area. However, the constant, very loud traffic noise from the adjacent busy road did spoil us taking full advantage of the excellent September weather. The lodge itself is bright, spacious and airy, with comfortable sofas and plenty of storage all round. The kitchen equipment is quite limited with basic self catering items missing - grater, potato peeler, general utensils such as wooden spoon, potato masher, serving spoons etc. There is a rotary washing line provided which is also broken. We did enjoy our stay in Amotherby as it is a perfect location for exploring but were disappointed with the road noise.

  • "An absolutely beautiful lodge!"

We all felt we were living in luxury for a week. It’s more suited to a quiet get away, we travelled a lot as we had kids, but for adults wanting a quiet break, it’s perfect! Highly recommend : )

  • "Had a great stay with friends, we were a party of 5 cyclist, hidden gem was a good base if you want instant access to beautiful country side."

Our lodge was private, a little noisy next to the road during the day, very quiet in the evening and through night. Our lodge was very comfortable, had to ask for extra towels as only allocated one towel each, the kitchen was lacking in a few sections, no egg cups for example, the pans were not non stick, no small pan to fry a egg, no basics such as salt in the salt pot, no sprays to clean the sides, had to ask for dishwasher tablets. When I asked Marie on site for the items we requested they were promptly delivered to our door. A lovely chap came every morning and checked our outdoor facilities, cleaned the hot tub daily. Our beds were very comfortable and overall we loved our stay.
