The property

The Orchard is a stunning lodge resting on the outskirts of Amotherby, in North Yorkshire, close to the bustling market town of Malton.

While you're in the area, travel into the nearby market town of Malton for a selection of its traditional eateries if you don't fancy cooking one evening.

The Howardian Hills AONB has a plethora of attractions that are a must-see during your trip, including the 18th century Castle Howard, seen as one of Britain's finest stately homes.

Flamingo Land Resort is also nearby and is a family-friendly theme park with thrilling rides and a zoo, fun for people of all ages.

The beautiful North York Moors National Park has a plethora of rural trails for some scenic walking and cycling opportunities.

Further afield is the seaside town of Scarborough, rich with tourist attractions such as the Japanese-style Peasholm Park, SEA LIFE Scarborough with many exotic underwater creatures, the historic Scarborough Castle and even a large sandy beach for family day trips.

The Orchard is an excellent base for touring this wonderful rural area of North Yorkshire.

York 18 miles; Scarborough 24 miles.

The market town of Malton has been the historic centre of Ryedale since Roman times, and has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly general market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers’ markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent countryside for walkers and cyclists. The impressive coastline is just 24 miles away, whilst the historic city of York is an 18 mile journey. A perfect base for touring the attractions of North Yorkshire.
