Very comfortable and very clean. Owners were excellent , very helpful and accommodating. I would certainly book this cottage again and highly recommend it to others. Reviewed by ChristineApr 2022 "Lovely owners very welcoming" Reviewed by CDec 2021 "Just returned home after a lovely break in a lovely cottage." The owners were really nice and accommodating resolving any issues,(that were beyond their control in the first place) we had no issues with the mattresses but they were changed whilst we were there. Unfortunately a tv mast got damaged(again beyond owners control) but managed to watch players and hub on devices, no issue with wifi. Would definitely have no issues with going there again. Beautiful setting with lots to do. Great base for day trips out. Thank you so much. Also Sykes Cottages handled everything brilliantly from booking, payment and amendments to the booking. Reviewed by PaulAug 2021 "Mattresses need changing springs have gone, downstairs bathroom sink plug does not work, cobwebs, fridge far too small." WiFi didn't work. Thank you for your feedback, we do take feedback very seriously and this is completely out of character for our property, the mattresses were bought within the last two years and we have not any complaints. We will check the other points raised and thank you for your comments. Property Owner Reviewed by SylviaJul 2021 "The location is superb and it is beautifully quiet in a lovely setting." The family were friendly and welcoming. We should love to come and stay again. The accomodation was excellent for my mum who is 87 and not very mobile as she was able to stay downstairs. Thank you for a lovely holiday Reviewed by LynneJul 2021 "Nice peaceful setting." Owners very friendly. Convenient for visiting York and the coast. The children loved the grounds as there was plenty of space to run around. Reviewed by ChristineJul 2021 "Fantastic cottage, spotlessly clean, great location and lovely hosts." A small thing to assist elderly guests would be to have a rubber slip mat available for use in the downstairs shower (meant to mention this to host but forgot). 3 generations of the family holidayed together and we all loved our time at Pond View Reviewed by JeffJul 2021 "Myself, my partner, our two friends and their two children had a lovely stay at Pond View." The cottage was so cosy and welcoming. It was clean, spacious and it had everything you should need. The owners are extremely friendly, welcoming and approachable. Their property is absolutely beautiful. The views are amazing outside and they keep farm animals which The children loved. There is a gorgeous pond with a small bridge which you could stand and look at for hours. It is local to thirsk Town centre, only a 15 minute drive away and it is close to many different attractions, such as monk Park animal farm. All in all a wonderful place to stay and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended if you want a cosy, peaceful place to go back to after a busy day sightseeing! Thank you very much!! Situated in nice quiet village with good Chinese restaurant. Great location with easy access to national parks and into city of York. Would definitely recommend. Reviewed by LeeOct 2019 "From the moment we arrived to the minute we departed, our hosts were on hand to make us welcome and to discuss our stay." Our family party of six staying for 4 nights thoroughly enjoyed the cottage facilities and comforts to the point that we plan to re-visit at a future date. Two family members stayed longer than originally planned. The cottage is extremely well placed, just off the A1 motorway in a very peaceful, scenic setting and within easy access of many Yorkshire towns and attractions. We visited Masham, Thirsk, Leyburn and Ripon. Each business we visited made us welcome and were interested to make time for informal chats, asking where we were from and where we were staying. We especially prefer to support independent businesses and found some excellent cheese, milk and bakery producers, tea shops and family butchery businesses. Lots of choice and fair pricing in all of the suppliers we found. Extremely enjoyable break and we can't wait to return. Reviewed by KayOct 2019 "This cottage is in a very good location for exploring the North York Moors and over to the East Coast." Also for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The entrance to the lane to the cottage is not easily found so had to ring the owner for instructions once we were in the village. Maybe some sort of signage would be useful. The owner is very pleasant and is on hand most of the time for queries. It was a shame that the patio set outside did not have a little table to put drinks/nibbles on. Felt a little uncomfortable that we did not get a key for the outer door, so it was just a case of shutting it! We had a key for the inner door into the sitting room but the downstairs shower room/toilet was in between these 2 doors. Therefore to use this facility in the night you had to unlock the door. These are small issues, but apart from these we had a lovely week in North Yorkshire helped by some very hot weather. Had 1 meal at the Nags Head (Cantonese restaurant) which is in the village and would recommend it. Reviewed by SandraAug 2019 "Owner was their to greet us,and nothing was to much trouble." Good location for days out .Village Pub and Chinese The Nags Head is a must, Alice the owner of both gave us a lovely welcome, Chinese meal was by far the best we have had so good we went back for another meal. Reviewed by MaryJul 2019 "Update to previous review, they have put shelves in the bathroom." Nice comfortable cottage and friendly hosts. Quiet with nice garden views. Good to have 2 shower rooms, and televisions in bedrooms. Central location for touring the area. Would stay again if in that part of Yorkshire. Only drawback was the rough track leading to the property Reviewed by MargaretJun 2019 "The property was ideal for our party size, a couple, mother with two small children, and grandmother." The downstairs bedroom and bathroom were ideal for anyone with mobility problems. The garden was ideal for the children with the pond a safe distance away. The owners gave us a warm welcome but never crowded us, an ideal balance. A very pleasant stay. Reviewed by LindaJun 2019 "Owner, who lived next door was very friendly and helpful, the house was just lovely, and we found having a toilet on both floors very useful." The land surrounding the house was great and made a beautiful setting for the house. If anything needed adding it was a small table either side of the bed with a lamp on it, as my husband and I both take water to bed they are needed. Also extra shelving in the upstairs bathroom for toiletries would be most useful, everything else was just ideal.
