“The holiday let offers everything you need for a short holiday.”

We stayed for a week. It’s compact downstairs, bedroom has nice space though. We arrived and the electric radiators were on but a low heat setting and it was so cold, we turned them up but it took 2 days for the property to warm up, we had to buy a heater to keep us warm and use the wood burner in the living room until the property warmed up. Once the property did warm up we were much more comfortable. A suggestion would be to turn the radiators on & up high for 36 hours before guests arrive ...

A suggestion would be to turn the radiators on & up high for 36 hours before guests arrive so it’s warm in arrival, especially in the winter months! Bathroom is fairly big, there isn’t enough hot water to use the bath but the shower works well and we both showered everyday with no problem. Clean hand and bath towel each were provided. The kitchen Is small but works, it has a stove, cupboard space, sink, tea & coffee facilities & a small fridge freezer, plates, glasses, mugs and cutlery, however we only knew about certain things from reading previous reviews so could be added to the listing info. The Wifi and TV worked well! DVD player available but we didn’t use it. The mattress is slightly worn but reasonably comfortable, bedding could do with updating and some new pillows. The key safe was troublesome, it’s a bit worn and we had trouble opening and shutting it. The garden is shared, our dog was ok going out there, there are other pets in the other houses though, something to be aware of. Nice touch of biscuits, flowers & milk, dog bowls and some treats on arrival for our dog which lovely! Parking is good in the opposite street on the cobbles. First we parked directly Opposite the property but neighbour left abrupt note asking us to move our car and not to park there again. Pet friendly inside with hard flooring downstairs. Going out the front door onto the road we just needed to be careful as there’s no path and it’s a blind bend on a country lane. Back entrance is safer for pets. On the whole a nice place close to Northallerton town centre, but some improvements/adjustments would really go a long way!
