“Cottage was everything as Sykes catalogue - in fact much better than expected.”

Furnishings, decorating and facilities first class, everything you could possibly need. Cottage was exceptionally clean on arrival. Would love to return.

The property

In the delightful village of Thornton-le-Dale lies this beautifully finished stone property, Daisy Cottage.

Offering superb accommodation for a large family of up to eight, this homely abode will be a dream to return to each day, situated within the wonderful North York Moors National Park.

Find your way to the heart of the home, the immaculate kitchen/diner, where a feature clock on the wall looks over the long dining table where you will gather together and spend merry evenings tucking into delicious feasts.

The smart, grey kitchen units hold a wealth of appliances to practise your chef skills, with a large, impressive electric range cooker perfect for balancing a few simmering pans on.

When everyone has filled their boots, retire to the sitting room and fire up the log burner as you settle on the attractive sofas and armchair, use the Smart TV to play a favourite film or show, and enjoy the company of your loved ones.

If you're not ready to call it a night, head into the games room, converted from a garage space into a fantastic and fun-filled area with a pool table for some friendly tournaments, as well as a TV and DVD player along with a Nintendo Wii to keep the kids occupied.

The ground floor king bedroom and shower room provide the ideal sleeping quarters for the grandparents or those less able with stairs.

Travel up to the first floor to find the remaining king-size bedroom and two super-king bedrooms benefiting from the ability to be converted to twin bedrooms thanks to the zip/link feature.

The master bedroom boasts an en-suite shower room with a huge walk-in enclosure for some added luxury.

The furnishings and decor have been completed to an impeccable degree, creating relaxing and tranquil spots in which to wind down at the end of another exciting day.

Completing the layout is the beautiful bathroom on the first floor where a roll-top bath offers you the chance to indulge in a peaceful soak.

Stroll down into the centre of Thornton-le-Dale and enjoy breakfast at the tea rooms, or stop in for a pub lunch on a sleepy afternoon, with other shops including an ice cream parlour, a chocolate shop and a restaurant, with a local store to pick up ingredients if you fancy being in the stunning kitchen.

Find a fantastic array of walking routes and trails freely available for the North York Moors, offering days of exploring the terrain on foot whilst experiencing breath-taking views and observing the natural world.

Visit the seaside town of Scarborough on the east coast and delight in a day at the beach and visiting the many attractions like Scarborough Castle.

Well-worth a day trip is the town of Whitby, resting at the mouth of the River Esk, it is home to Bram Stoker's inspiration for 'Dracula', the eerie Whitby Abbey, reached via the famous 199 Steps and providing glorious views over the town and the sea.
