The property

This beautiful and traditional detached house dates back to the 1700s and is in a most pleasant and quiet position in the historic village of Cawood, within easy reach of York.

The superb house is spacious and full of character whilst the open fire provides a cosy ambience, making it an ideal base for families and friends.

The dining kitchen is a sociable space with lots of room for preparing delicious home-cooked meals in the well-equipped kitchen and then enjoying them together sat around the extending table, whilst discussing the days’ events.

Alternatively choose from one of the pubs in the village or from one of the many restaurants in the area offering food for every taste and budget.

The comfortable sitting room, with its open fire is the perfect place to sit and relax in comfort or alternatively retire to the snug with its good supply of books and games.

Both the snug and sitting rooms have TVs, the main sitting room having a large screen TV with BT Entertainment.

Completing the ground floor is a shower room, whilst upstairs are four welcoming bedrooms, and there's a lovely bathroom with a bath and separate shower cubicle available.

Outside the enclosed garden is an absolute delight with mistletoe, magnolia, apple trees and a pear tree together with a large lawn and patio area.

There is also the possibility of harvesting seasonal fruit and vegetables, so why not spend sunny evenings outside with your loved ones?

Cawood is an attractive village with lots of character and some interesting street names, along with a fine Georgian merchants' house.

Also in the village is Cawood Castle, once the summer residence of the Archbishop of York.

Nowadays all that remains of the castle is the gatehouse and the banqueting hall.

Cawood is around a 20 minute drive into York where you can discover this most beautiful of medieval cities, with many attractions, tea rooms and pubs.

For shopaholics the nearby York McArthur Glen shopping outlet is a shopping paradise and from here you can park and ride directly to the city centre.

A wonderful holiday home for whatever you wish to see and do.
