“Our holiday home was moved by the owners to Tufts House instead of St Hilda’s House .”

... absolutely wasn’t a problem with our large family group of 15 ... Tufts is a beautiful farm house in a large plot with outstanding views and although the owner is just up the lane you have so much freedom to enjoy this beautiful property.. Sharon Alex and Sam where there if needed and all so friendly and fun would 100% recommend Tufts House it was also amazing that we had 7 days of scorching hot weather

The property

Hovingham 2 miles.

St Hilda's House is a stunning, detached stone-built house set in the pretty and peaceful hamlet of Cawton, a couple of miles from Hovingham, close to both Helmsley and Malton.

Nestled within some of North Yorkshire's most beautiful countryside, this wonderful house has been designed with two things in mind; comfort and luxury.

The whole house could have been styled from a glossy magazine with Travertine tiling in all the bathrooms, stylish decor throughout, quality soft furnishings and a sumptuous kitchen.

The sitting room provides an oasis of quiet comfort enhanced by the crackling of the woodburner, the snug also has its own woodburner.

Set over three floors, there are six bedrooms at this superb property, with two twin rooms, one with an extra children?s pull out bed, on the second floor, whilst the other four are on the first floor, including two that boast en-suite facilities.

Outside there is a spacious patio where you can dine alfresco.

The house lies close to the beautiful, rolling countryside of the Howardian Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

At the heart of these hills is the iconic Castle Howard which really is a 'must do' during your visit.

This magnificent 18th century house is set within 1000 acres of spectacular landscape including fountains, lakes, temples, woodland, cafes and shops, including a farm shop and garden centre.

Also nearby is Nunnington Hall, a picturesque Yorkshire manor house with an organic garden and it houses the famous Carlisle Collection.

Now an intrinsic part of the house, the Collection is an exhibition of sixteen miniature rooms displaying the most exquisite and detailed instruments, furniture and accessories.

For a truly historic day out, York is easily reached with its many attractions, including the famous Minster, and also within reach are Scarborough, Whitby, Kirkbymoorside and Pickering.

A luxurious holiday home for families or friends with plenty to see and do in the area.
