  • "The Piggery is gorgeous, equipped with everything we could possibly need and decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard and quality."

The bed was very comfortable and super-king size which is surprisingly rare to find in a holiday home but, with a partner over 6ft tall, it is what we look for wherever we stay! Spectacular views from the cottage and a wealth of beautiful walks from the doorstep. We would definitely stay there again.

  • "Fantastic cottage with wonderful views over the Moors."

The owner, Barry, was so helpful and greeted us with welcome biscuits and a cup of tea. He was on hand should we have needed anything but otherwise left us to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surrounding area. Lovely bonus to have a smart tv whilst riding out Storm Arwen. Thank you to Barry for keeping the track clear when it snowed. The walk in shower was also absolutely superb. I can’t recommend The Piggery highly enough. We will be back.

The hosts are nearby, but leave you alone. Support is there , if you need it. One of the best cottages that my wife and I have stayed in and certainly the most ‘Chillaxing’ week we have ever had. If you want to ‘get away from it all’ then this is the place for you.

I would recommend a stay at The Piggery, especially if you like peace and quiet , a good base for the Yorkshire moors and coast , excellent if you enjoy walking , a little too far from a pub (walking) but plenty within 25 minutes in a car , wouldn't hesitate to book again within this area

I would like to comment on the wild life around the cottage which was great to see. The highlight was I got up early one morning and had a cup of coffee outside. I watched two Red Kites circling around and then one of them swopped down between the buildings and I could see all the details of its plumage it was beyond belief. This was not a one off they made an appearance every day. There was lots to see with the other wild life around. The Piggery cottage is an exceptional destination

Its setting was fantastic looking down into Farndale. A warm welcome from Barry and the milk and biscuits were appreciated. The cottage itself is fabulous. Tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Kitchen was well planned out with every utensil and homeware product provided. Very comfortable king size bed with mattress topper. Bathroom was very modern and the wet room was well used after a days walking in the hills.
