  • "It was a nice property, it could do with some instructions on how to use the alarm on entry, other than that it's a nice place and we'd come back, it's in a good spot for the town and beach ⛱️."

Thank you so much for your comments. Glad you enjoyed your stay at Balmoral Cottage. Apologies for lack of clear instructions for the alarm. Property Owner

  • "The property was different as to the room designs, but the house was well presented."

The only hiccup with us was the shower being so low.

Thank you for your positive feedback much appreciated. The shower situation will be resolved. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay, please come again. Property Owner

  • "A spotless cottage, filled with ingenious little touches."

Plenty of room. No expense spared on furnishings or the artwork. Good location near the sea front. All in all, good value for money. The security system took a bit of getting used to and, being six feet one inch tall, I had to bend almost double to take a shower. It's also funny to open your kitchen doors and find yourself in the back lane. Still, these are small matters. I would certainly consider booking Balmoral Cottage again, perhaps in the autumn when things are a little quieter along Redcar's Esplanade.

    Thank you. Property Owner

  • "Really lovely house enjoyed the stay."

My only small critique is the shower, I'm 6 ft 3 and my wife is 5 10 and the shower is way to short for us. Although what I'm about to say is not a cheap I'd put the toilet on the landing up stairs as you have one downstairs, and create a short cubicle in that one , you'd have a perfect house then....

I’m 6ft 1” I do understand. I will be making these changes in the near future. Property Owner

  • "Property was very clean and comfortable and furnishings including beds were of good quality."

Listing says patio/garden and as a dog owner this was important to us but what is actually there is a parking space on a lane which cars use. Also bath quite small and shower over bath not working as notified.

Listing for the property has been corrected. New shower mixer installed. My apology for any inconvenience. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay, the beach is literally a minute walk away and we had lovely morning and evening walks along this."

The cottage is really well-equipped, and the space has been used really well. The kitchen has a good range of utilities, and the decor around the house is very classy. There was plenty of room for four adults and a dog to stay there in comfort, one of the beds in the second bedroom was made up as a double which was a nice surprise.

Thank you so much :) Property Owner

  • "The cottage is really lovely, has everything anyone could ask for in a cottage, very clean, comfortable home from home and quirky spread out over 3 floors, disappointed that there wasn’t a garden as stated in the listing as I took my dog."

Having said that I wouldn’t hesitate to go back or recommend to anyone, it’s a true gem of a place.

Thank you, very kind :) Property Owner

  • "The house was very clean and really well presented."

Good furniture and decor, thought to detail. The free parking made it ideal. There is a laundrette next door. Beach was literally 1 min walk which was handy with 2 kids and a dog. Lots of great restaurants on the door step. Lots of extra towels. 2 toilets. The shower was nice and strong. We would definitely go back.

Thank you I’m glad you & your family enjoyed your stay. Kind regards Property Owner

Spotlessly clean and the best equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in. One minute walk to the beach, and with the up and coming Northern Quarter micro bars around the corner. We were spoilt with end to end sunshine and had a fabulous stay!!

Thank you so much Maria, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. Best wishes Property Owner

The seaside town of Redcar lies on the east coast, just north of Saltburn. It has long, golden sandy beaches stretching for miles towards Saltburn Bay. The promenade is perfect to sit and watch the local fisherman land the day's catch, and you may wish to enjoy Redcar's famous lemon top ice cream, tried by Prince Charles on one of his frequent visits. The 80ft accessible vertical pier 'Redcar's Beacon' offers spectacular views, and visit the lifeboat museum, home to the 'Zetland' built in 1802, which is known to be the world's oldest lifeboat. To the south-east, The Stray, a 2 mile stretch of grassland between the golden beach and coast road links Redcar and Marske, why not take a leisurely walk and admire the breathtaking vista of coastline and cliffs? The popular Victorian resort of Saltburn, only a few minutes’ drive has an abundance of lovely tea rooms, good restaurants and interesting shops. Take the cliff lift believed to be the oldest working funicular railway in the UK, making its first 120ft decent on June 28th 1884. To the lower promenade and the 600ft long pier is the sole surviving example on the north east coast, then a stroll through the ornamental valley gardens up to the town. The North York Moors lie to the south, with ample walking opportunities and attractions such as the Danby Moors Exhibition Centre and continue to the vibrant market town of Helmsley with ruins of a Norman castle.
