  • "A restorative and much-needed half term break in this peaceful and tranquil cottage!"

Pleasant views, comfy beds, and a cosy sitting room

  • "Super cottage, well equipped with everything you need, a real ‘home from home’."

It is well situated on the edge of the village with picturesque countryside all around. Lots to see and do locally, but if you don’t mind a little driving, Beamish, Eden Camp and Whitby are a good day out.

  • "We had a lovely week."

The cottage had plenty of cleaning materials (washing up liquid, hand soap etc). Beds were very comfortable. The well-stocked co op was just a short walk away. Church View cottage was in a perfect location for seeing many of the attractions in the area. We would be very happy to stay there again.

  • "A lovely comfortable cottage with beautiful kitchen."

Very comfortable beds and close to beautiful walk’s just outside the house. Lovely views and handy local co-op. Nearby is Raby Castle, barnard Castle, Bishop Auckland with nearby Roman Fort and Durham were all close and worth a visit. Please note local pub does not do food. But there is a good local Chinese takeout for your first night.

  • "Church view cottage is well equipped, comfortable and very conveniently located in a village with pubs, shops and an usually regular bus service."

My only negative is that the fridge is far too small. It's worth mentioning that car parking space is only suitable for short cars.

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. The fridge is being replaced next week with a larger unit and ice box. The joining instructions didn't make it clear that the entire space at the front of the property is off the public highway, and therefore it is not a problem if your vehicle doesn't fit on the area of concrete directly in front of the property. We note your comments and will amend the details in the property to avoid confusion. Property Owner
