  • "The house was amazing."

It was comfortable, clean and had everything that you needed. The hosts welcomed us with a very generous welcome pack. Lots of luxurious touches at the house made it feel extra special and the hot tub was great to come back to after a day exploring. The location was so peaceful we came back refreshed and recharged.

  • "The old Dohhouse is in a great peaceful location but so close to York and little villages that you can nip out in the car for supplies or pub lunch/dinner easily with plenty of choice."

The house is very well maintained and spotless. We found the bed really uncomfortable and soft but that could just be us, everything else was perfect. The back garden is all paved/stoned with a small wall and gate so perfect for our little dog to wander about safely whilst we were the the fabulous hot tub (very clean and huge) . Just beyond the back garden at the gate is a large lawned area but it’s not secure but handy if your dog insists on going on grass. Also you can walk the dog up the private road and onto the single track road as there are grassy embankments too. Fine for a little wander. Garden felt very private and views were lovely over the fields. The outside spaces are maintained beautifully. If you need a washing machine or dryer just ask owner for the code as it just outside your property in the barn conversion next to you. Would definitely recommend. Great place to explore the little local area.

  • "Had a brilliant week in 'The Old Dog House'!"

House was comfortable, super clean & really lovely! No washing machine which was totally an oversight on my part as one wasn't listed, but it would have made it perfect. Would definitely recommend the property however. It was lovely & quiet in beautiful surroundings but close enough (with a car) to everything you needed & more. A great holiday was had by all!

Hello Dionne Thanks for an amazing review and so pleased you had a great stay - we do have a washing facility - we have a dedicated laundry room guest may use (there is passcode to it available on request). I must get the listing updated. Hope to see you again at Thrush Nest Cottages - thanks for staying x Claire Property Owner

Claire was very helpful and provided a welcome pack of food/drinks, which was much appreciated, when we arrived. Hot tub was lovely with fab views of surrounding area, very relaxing. Pizza oven is no longer in use unfortunately but not a huge problem for us. Would recommend to those who are looking for a relaxing getaway.
