“Nice spacious accommodation in a great location.”

Close enough to the old fishing village of Staithes, but with easy parking, walking distance to a Co Op and chips hop!

The property

Resting in the coastal village of Staithes, near the bustling seaside town of Whitby, is this end-terrace cottage, Jubilee House.

Set over two floors and sleeping five guests, Jubilee House is a well-located and homely setting for your next family getaway to the North Yorkshire coastline and North York Moors National Park.

Grab a roadside parking spot at the front of the property and head up the paved walk-way through the front garden, when you get inside the house there is an open plan living area, although you can shut the double doors to close off the sitting room if you want a more private evening, with popcorn, in front of the TV, but if not the sitting area flows nicely through to a dining area with table and chairs so the family can enjoy the evening meal together, which was prepared in the kitchen which has all the amenities to assist you in your self-catering requirements, including a handy dishwasher and washing machine.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms to rest and rejuvenate in at the end of the day, there is a double, a twin and a single which offer a flexible sleeping arrangement, there is also a bathroom with a shower over the bath, a basin and a WC.

Outside there is a rear garden with furniture to enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on the patio or just a cup of coffee in the morning.

From the property you can walk to Staithes beach, which has a beautiful harbour and plenty of seating to enjoy the views, it's also a popular fishing location, and in the village itself you can enjoy fish and chips or some pub grub, as well access to a range of shops for any essentials.

Just under 10 miles away is the lively seaside town of Whitby, where you can relax on the sandy beach, play in the amusements, visit the lighthouse or go historic with a walk to Whitby Abbey.

Staithes also rests on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, which is home to one of the largest expanses of moorland in the UK, exciting wildlife, ancient woods and traditional villages, so give yourself time to explore this picturesque part of the country.

About the location

STAITHES

Whitby 10 miles.

The charming and sleepy seaside village of Staithes, with its cobbled streets and back alleys, is something of an artist’s dream. Its pretty houses and cottages are clustered around the old harbour and surrounded by high craggy cliffs on three sides, with a sheltered sandy beach set amongst the rocky coastline. The village can claim connections with Captain Cook who was apprenticed to a draper near the harbour. Nowadays, Staithes is a must for anyone visiting the Yorkshire Coast and has a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms. Staithes is still home to an RNLI lifeboat station and a small fleet of cobles (fishing boats) landing fish, crab and lobster, with boat trips for birdwatching, fishing and even whale watching available. It’s also the location of the popular BBC children’s TV series, Old Jack’s Boat. Staithes has a strong attraction for artists, with an annual Art and Heritage Festival, galleries and artists studios with art courses and workshops regularly on offer. There’s a free Illusion Trail, which guides visitors around the network of ginnels (alleyways), with trail guides available locally. The best views of the town can be enjoyed from the Cleveland Way which runs down the cliff to the sea’s edge. Altogether a superb base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast, visiting the larger resorts of Whitby or Scarborough and enjoying the moorland villages of the North York Moors National Park.
