Only a couple of miles from the main road the cottage provides an excellent base for trips to the coast, the moors or York. We enjoyed our regular visits from Ted the dog and the two cats, Tilly & Tinkerbelle.

Perfect for visiting Robin Hoods Bay, Ravenscar, Scarborough and Filey on the coast, castles in Helmsley and Pickering, Rievaulx Abbey and York Minster! Farndale Daffodil Walk by the river is extra special mid March to mid April when all the wild daffodils are in bloom! When we stayed at the cottage we saw the newly born lambs!

  • "Just returned from a lovely week away in this little cottage."

The only downside was having to leave! Perfectly situated for us on a farm, so quiet and not too many people about. Lots of lovely sheep to watch from the kitchen window. A friendly little dog Ted, visited us along with 3 beautiful cats... I was in my element with my new found friends. The owners couldn’t have been more accommodating and let my partner use the barn to store his motorcycle when the weather was a little inclement. All in all a lovely location with easy access to all the seaside areas and the moors and dales. Highly recommend a visit.

  • "Conditions were very muddy & could be much improved by use of some hard-core & shifting the cumbersome gate to give better access to the cottages."

Also the lighting at night is very very poor. There should be more sensory lighting available especially in the winter, it is very very dark. Inside the electric stove was not working & is missed when the heating is off.
