“We have had a wonderful holiday at Hartswood!”

Rosey and Trev have an amazing set up. ...

Rosey and Trev have an amazing set up. The accommodation is well thought out and has everything you could need. Including a full size airer for those wet swimsuits and towels. An ironing board, iron and even a hoover if needed! We didn’t use the kitchen facilities too much but they seemed perfectly adequate for any self catering break. The pool is fantastic and a godsend for entertaining the children! Most of the time we had it to ourselves but it is definitely big enough to share!! Location wise you are a 20 minute walk from a local pub (the Dawnay Arms) this is a dog friendly pub serving wonderful food at a great price! Fresh eggs are available on site and I have never seen such big yellow yolks! Delicious! A ten minute drive takes you into Malton a lovely little town with a range of shops from the quirky (The Wooden Home) to Boots and Morrison’s! Again Malton is dog friendly with lots of nice bars and cafes to visit. The Groovy Moo and Florians Poirot at the Talbot Yard are a must! 40 minutes drive will take you into York City which is absolutely stunning and definitely worth a day out. York Dungeons, the Jorvik centre and the York Chocolate Story were all amazing and Covid secure. For those who like a bit of retail therapy the York Designer Outlet Village is a 30 minute drive and is all undercover in the event of a rainy day! Arrive early to avoid queues. We were lucky enough to get a glorious sunny day and drove to Filey (again a 30 minute drive) to spend the day there. It is a beautiful stretch of beach and has toilet facilities and a cafe if required. We took a picnic and had a lovely time there. This is a beautiful part of the country and we will definitely be back again. There is so much more to do there than we could fit into a week! Highly recommended!
