“Minor issue with tv reception breaking up due to poor reception from Freeview.”

Would suggest changing to Freesat, this would overcome the issue. Great overall experience though.

The property

Tucked away in a quiet corner, is this delightful stone semi-detached cottage.

With much charm and character, it provides an idyllic holiday home for exploring the wonderful east coast resorts and the spectacular countryside of the North York Moors.

Step inside to a spacious and light and airy sitting room, with a painted beamed ceiling, cosy electric 'woodburner' and comfy sofas.

There is a modern, well-equipped separate kitchen with a dining area to one end, where families can sit and enjoy a family meal together.

Up the cottage stairs are two pretty bedrooms, the double with an additional TV and the family bathroom, boasting both a shower and a bath.

Warm and inviting, this property is tastefully furnished to the highest standards, ensuring guests have a comfortable and memorable stay.

A five minute walk brings you to the local amenities, just a 30 minute walk will take you to the beaches at Skinningrove which also accesses the cliff walk of the Cleveland Way on route to Saltburn-by-the-sea with its famous cliff tramway.

The oldest water balanced funicular, still in operation in Great Britian.

The picturesque fishing village of Staithes lies just three miles away, with its quirky and quaint cottages that tumble down towards the sea.

Discover the narrow cobbled alleyways and partake in coffee and cakes on the waterfront.

Children will love crabbing in the rock pools and building sandcastles on the beach.

A short drive to popular Whitby is essential, with its long, sandy beaches, pretty harbour and historic Whitby Abbey perched high on the cliff top.

Climb the 199 steps up to the Abbey and reward yourself on your return, with Whitby's famous fish and chips!

The wide expanses of the North York Moors are on the doorstep, with many attractions, including the Danby Moors Exhibition Centre, the steam railway at Grosmont and fantastic walking.

About the location

Saltburn-by-the-Sea 4 miles; Hinderwell 6 miles; Whitby 14 miles.

The village of Loftus lies 14 miles north of Whitby on the east coast of Yorkshire. Originally an old alum mining village, it comprises terraced houses, old stone cottages and a few grand stone dwellings. The long and lively main street hosts a variety of shops, eateries, pubs, banks and an impressive town hall. Lying behind the main street is a leisure centre with an excellent swimming pool. Loftus is well placed for discovering the small coastal villages of Runswick Bay and Staithes, the latter being a popular choice for artists. Four miles to the north is the elegant spa town of Saltburn with its golf club and long pier stretching over the wide sands. The stunning North Yorkshire Moors countryside is on the doorstep and the Jurassic fossil coast lies to the south.
