  • "Stayed here last year and reported that 1 blind in the kitchen was missing which gives no privacy to turn up this year and blind still not replaced is really not a good start."

Good place to stay as a base for sightseeing.

Great place to stay Big back garden for the dog Shops just up the road and bus stop if you want to go to town The only thing wrong is that there is no pub around the house

  • "We had a nice stay at 26 Eastway and it is in a good location for accessing the attractions of the area, but it’s not a particularly attractive area to visit."

The house was clean with comfortable and well presented furnishings - that’s the most important thing. We stayed for a short break and the dogs enjoyed the large garden. The back passageway from the car park to the house was very handy and we used that instead of walking down the busy main road with the dogs. It has a very large & secure garden for even the most small and determined dog, which I think is the biggest plus for this property. Just beyond the car parking is a convenience store which was extremely handy; we needed to go and buy sugar as there wasn’t any in the kitchen. We think that it is only right to warn other potential visitors that we feel that the house wouldn’t be comfortable for five people to stay (as it is currently marketed for): there wouldn’t be enough places for five to sit in the lounge and bedroom 3’s door won’t close because the single bed is in the way - it is extremely small and there would be no privacy or space for anyone staying in that room. This should be a 4 people max. property. Didn’t bother us as a couple though. The last few things wouldn’t bother everyone but just add to the picture of what to expect: - The house and garden are completely overlooked, so we kept curtains and blinds closed more than we would otherwise. - We would have appreciated more information in the household pack with details of which colour bin is which (it isn’t the same everywhere), and even small details like how the ridiculously fancy bathroom tap works… turn on for hot and then turn it up to max for cold… - No welcome pack of essentials. - Our 4G via phones was better than the house wifi. - Every single picture and mirror is hung crooked; triggering for some. - Check in time was 4.30pm and check out was 9.30am. We appreciate that different owners need more/less time, but it would have influenced our decision in booking to know that - we felt rushed to leave, in particular. Finally, we had issues with the dishwasher not turning off (it was on when we arrived & the manual was no help) and called the owner - she offered to have someone come out but made us feel like we were both an inconvenience and stupid. Didn’t touch the dishwasher thereafter.

  • "A very very clean and tidy house, very comfortable and lovely neighbours, it didn't matter to us but if someone was staying there for a week or so then they may want some wardrobes but apart from that it was a wonderful house and central for everything, one of the best places we have stayed."

The cleaning company needs a massive thank you!! We will return

  • "An amazing stay at this lovely house."

The weather was brilliant for May and we found Scarborough delightful. A great base for Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hood Bay. We even ventured to Yorkshire Wildlife park to see the only polar bears in the UK. It was 150 mile round trip but worth it. There were 2 adults and 2 large dogs in our party. Only a couple of concerns…. The gardener and window cleaner attended during our stay and would have quite happily let themselves in to the garden without our knowledge. One of our dogs is a very protective German shepherd so would not have liked that!! A previous comment was about outside furniture and we think a definite bonus. We used the chairs from our camper van. Also if 5 adults were staying a larger selection of cookware would be good. A lovely stay and we would definitely use it again .

  • "This is probably the best presented holiday home we've ever stayed in!"

All rooms are beautifully decorated & arranged, with good quality furniture, carpets and a very comfortable gigantic double bed. The massive enclosed & secure back garden was brilliant for our 2 dogs and is the main reason we booked this property. Just one or two comments & suggestions. The property is situated on a fairly busy road and within a large residential area which can be quite busy. That said, Eastfield is a perfect out-of-town Scarborough location for driving around & missing traffic queues in the local area.. We had an intermittent problem with the TV, mainly that it operates through Wi-Fi and the signal is weak and the picture can be affected by Buses or people passing by outside the front of the property in the evening. Finally, we were extremely lucky to have warm & sunny weather in April so a couple of patio chairs & table would have been useful, rather than carrying kitchen chairs into the back garden. Anyway, overall a fantastic property, spotlessly clean and very good value too, thanks!

  • "Lovely, well presented house."

The location could be off putting to some, being on a main (ish) road, but it is a fab location as a base for exploring the surrounding areas. Only a few minutes from Cayton Bay and Filey, very convenient shop a few doors down. Very secure huge garden which was a massive bonus with our dog. Would suggest a little wardrobe for hanging clothes (although hangers were provided to hang on hooks on the bedroom doors) and extra bits and bobs in the kitchen (plates, cutlery etc) Overall we had a fab stay!

  • "House was a good size, a nicely furnished."

There was a clothes airer but no pegs to peg wet clothes from the beach on, which on a windy day was a problem. There is no washing machine, so just be prepared. No TV unless you log into Netflix etc on your own account. No dog gate to stop a dog from going upstairs. We had to buy a pan for cooking in as the pans there were small. Also did not have much of a holiday house feel, a few pictures or beach/seaside accessories would have been nice.
