Mr Dale “Tillers Cottage is the perfect holiday retreat”
- Mr Dale, September 2020 -
Mr Coleman “This is the third time we have had a family get together at Tillers cottage so it matched our expectations.”
We were the second ever users of the cottage so I was impressed with its condition. Parking more than one car is an issue in that you don't want to upset the neighbors like we did!
- Mr Coleman, March 2020Mr Bousfield “The owner of this property has literally thought of everything possible to make this the most wonderful and comfortable place to relax and stay!”
I would highly recommend anyone to book Tillers Cottage, you would not be disappointed, thank you Kate for an amazing stay!
- Mr Bousfield, November 2019Mr Brown “Tillerson cottage was a fantastic place to stay .”
Perfectly situated with easy access to some of the most beautiful places in north Yorkshire. The cottage was stunning and had everything and more you will ever need. Will definitely be back .
- Mr Brown, June 2019Ms Oughton “Lovely cottage in a very good location.”
Very comfortable, clean and well appointed.
- Ms Oughton, June 2019Mrs Cannings “Tillers Cottage was fabulous!”
So cosy, clean and spacious with every facility you could possibly want and more. The village was peaceful and picturesque although we missed not having a small shop where we could buy daily essentials. The nearby farm and next door property did sell free range eggs though. It rained throughout our holiday but it didn't spoil it for us as we had the fantastic cottage to return to every day.
- Mrs Cannings, June 2019Mrs Hallett “Fantastic Cottage Very clean and everything you would need for your stay is ...”
Fantastic Cottage Very clean and everything you would need for your stay is provided The location was ideal to visit the local countryside will definitely return and would definitely recommend Sykes to friends and this particular cottage Everyone was very professional and friendly from start to finish
- Mrs Hallett, June 2019Mrs Walker “Fantastic Cottage in a beautiful village.”
My family of four have visited Yorkshire many times and this cottage was one of the best. We were joined this time by my sister and her family and this cottage was perfect. Loads of space for everyone. Our teenage kids had plenty of space and could watch TV in the evening whilst we were able to enjoy a glass of wine in the cosy open plan dining area whilst making dinner. Enjoyed visiting the surrounding areas and a great time had by all. Would recommend this cottage and Sykes cottages for ease of booking.
- Mrs Walker, April 2019Mrs Preston “We absolutely loved it.”
Great attention to detail and beautiful cottage and location.
- Mrs Preston, March 2019Mr King “Cottage was beautiful.”
Very comfortable and everything was at hand to make our stay a memorable one. Would recommend Tillers Cottage to anyone.
- Mr King, March 2019Miss Amos “The cottage was exactly as described, beautifully decorated, well furnished, very clean, well equipped.”
Our one query about the heating was dealt with quickly on arrival. Highly recommended.
- Miss Amos, February 2019Mr Lockwood “A lovely cottage in a beautiful area, had everything you could need.”
We have been in many holiday cottages but this was by far the nicest!
- Mr Lockwood, January 2019Mr Muhl “Great location and an amazing cottage.”
Stayed for a week to explore the NYM and surrounding areas. Was a lovely place to come back to on an evening, 2 sitting rooms and a fully equipped kitchen. We will be back again in the future, thankyou.
- Mr Muhl, January 2019Mr Scarbro “Absolutely fantastic.”
We walked in to a beautiful cottage to find it immaculate and all laid out with beautiful Xmas dining Plates and the whole cottage decorated so tastefully. My 2 brothers (1 visiting from Australia) and their families were equally impressed with all agreeing with my wifes sentiments of "we wish this was ours". Kate was brilliant in her communications and made sure everything was perfect for us. The roaring fire place was the icing on the cake with the alternative of a wood burner in the kitchen. As far as setting Ebberton is ideal. Just a few miles from Thornton Le Dale and Pickering to the West and Scarborough to the East. A lovely 25 miles drive through Dalby forest and Heartbeat Country takes you to Whitby (Magpie Fish and Chips recommended) which can then be followed by the coastal drive to Scarborough to make a fantastic day out. For a lovely end of day drink the Grapes pub in Ebberston is an old character pub within easy walking distance and food is served here as well. We have to admit having booked this for a meal we changed our mind and decided to utilise the facilities of the cottage which due to the beauty and comfort of it was a great desicion as we were sadly only there for 2 nights. Thanks to Kate for letting us have use of her fantastic property and we will definitely be returning
- Mr Scarbro, January 2019Mrs Cotton “Everything was great and enjoyed by all.”
- Mrs Cotton, December 2018Mrs Malcolm “We had a excellent weekend at Tillers cottage.”
It was spotless. A very comfortable cottage to stay in. Would highly recommend.
- Mrs Malcolm, November 2018Mrs Seabrook “Absolutely stunning cottage!”
- Mrs Seabrook, June 2018Mrs Farrance “Not only was the house of a very high standard, the really nice thing was that ...”
Not only was the house of a very high standard, the really nice thing was that in a residential area the neighbours were very welcoming slight issues with where to park the cars as we had three
- Mrs Farrance, June 2018Mrs Colvin “We had a super week at Tillers Cottage.”
It was ideal for a family of 5 + a granny. It feels very spacious, particularly downstairs where the cottage has a large kitchen and snug, and there is a separate sitting room. The cottage is well equipped, clean and well looked after. It has a sweet garden across the gravel drive. Kate, the owner, was very helpful. The location is super and we loved the area. We visited Castle Howard, Filey, Bridlington, Dalby Forest, Flamingoland (which our 5, 3 and 1 year old ADORED) and finished up with fish and chips in Scarborough. We would be back next year but sadly someone has beaten us to it!
- Mrs Colvin, May 2018Dr Flynn “Gorgeous cottage in a beautiful village.”
There is a lovely garden to enjoy the sun and a local park within walking distance if you have children. The cottage is a great size, with space for relaxing on comfy sofas as well as dining as a family. incredibly clean and fresh inside we loved staying for a week and found plenty to do within short drives nearby.
- Dr Flynn, May 2018Miss Allsopp “Such a stunning cottage in a picture perfect location.”
Beautifully decorated and in a modern yet homely fashion. The quality and cleanliness was superb. There's all the amenities you need & it's pet friendly. Highly recommend.
- Miss Allsopp, April 2018Mr Coleman “This is our second visit to this cottage and the owners have improved and responded to suggestions to make an excellent venue even better.”
We will definitely return next year and I would recommend this cottage for a family break.
- Mr Coleman, April 2018Mrs Brough “We LOVED this cottage.”
Plenty of space for the two families. The kitchen area is fab with every utensil you'd possibly need. Lovely to all eat together and chatter. The hub of the home. Comfortable sofas with space for everyone to snuggle up. Thank you xxxx
- Mrs Brough, March 2018Mrs Oakenfull “Lovely cottage, very comfortable, plenty of space for eight people, owner communication excellent, highly reccommended”
- Mrs Oakenfull, March 2018Mrs Corke “Stunning 4 bedroom cottage in peaceful little village.”
Perfect location for visiting pickering, Scarborough. Whitby and york and lots of little villages nearby. Cottage beautifully decorated. Kitchen well equipped. Cosy living rooms with open fire. Perfect for families.
- Mrs Corke, March 2018Mrs Morrell “We stay for a New Year's Eve break with friends.”
Tillers is beautifully furnished and decorated cottage. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. Easy to use double oven with grill, microwave, halogen hob, dishwasher and washer, plus slow cooker. Perfect for families and couples, plus children. Lovely location and garden. Lovely pub with good food within walking distance. Excellent communication with owners. We will certainly be returning.
- Mrs Morrell, December 2017Mrs Hebron “Beautiful cottage in a stunning location.”
The owners were fantastic and were in contact to make sure everything was ok throughout our stay. I would definately recommend staying here & will certainly be returning.
- Mrs Hebron, November 2017Mr Capper “Tillers cottage in Ebberston is a beautiful cottage furnished to a high standard, its in a great location and is highly recommended.”
- Mr Capper, October 2017Kitchen “A very lovely and well equipped cottage and a very restful break, super!”

Plenty of space for individuals to have privacy if desired. Garden is well maintained and pleasant to sit in. Party was grandparents children and grandchildren all enjoyed the layout and feel of the property.
- Mrs Stubbs, August 2017Mrs Scobbie “Tillers cottage is a wonderful place to stay.”
It's so homely and comforatable. Beautifully decorated and has everything you might need. A lot of thought has gone into making it a great holiday home.I would not hesitate in recommending Tillers cottage.
- Mrs Scobbie, July 2017Mrs Caygill “The cottage was fantastic, very clean, comfortable, spacious and everything was of a high standard.”
The area was great and ensured that all members of the family from young to old could enjoy great days out. Very friendly neighbours also helped to make our visit very enjoyable.
- Mrs Caygill, July 2017Mr Pocock “Tiller's Cottage is a very recently refurbished and tastefully decorated stone built property located in Ebberston village just off the main road between Pickering and Scarborough.”
It has two double rooms and two twin rooms. The kitchen/diner is very well equipped and spacious. There is a good-sized lounge with a large wall mounted Netflix enabled TV with . There is good WiFi coverage in the property, and high speed internet connection (40M+). The bedrooms are all upstairs, and one has an en suite. The family bathroom has an excellent shower and a comfortable bath. There is only off road parking for one car (the cottage shares a drive with an adjacent property) but there was plenty of parking on the road outside (which was not at all busy, as it only has the village traffic passing along). The garden is lovely and private, although you need to cross the gravel drive to access it. The owners have worked hard to make sure the property has everything you would need when on holiday, and they were very friendly and good at communicating with us before, during and after our stay. The neighbours were also friendly and helpful. We would stay again if we are holidaying in the area.
- Mr Pocock, July 2017Mrs Wallace “This is our 5th or 6th holiday with Sykes as the quality of the property is always guaranteed.”
This cottage however was the creme de la creme. The quality of the furniture and bedding was excellent. The beds were really comfy. It was immaculate. With 2 teenagers having the two TV areas was great and they were Smart TV's. Nice selection of books and games. The private garden was superb and a real sun trap. Spent hours there reading my book in total peace and quiet. Lovely village with friendly locals. Katy emailed me a few days before arrival with details which was nice. Would be back there in a heartbeat.
- Mrs Wallace, July 2017Mrs Marshall “This cottage is outstanding and had everything and more.”
Would definitely book again
- Mrs Marshall, June 2017Mr Coleman “This was a new let and everything was brand new and therefore in excellent condition and up to date, especially in the kitchen.”
All our group found the cottage comfortable and cosy, the garden was a sun trap and the neighbours were friendly and helpful. The local pub was dog friendly and the food was excellent but you did need to book in advance for a larger party as it was so popular. We visit this area a lot to visit our family and have stayed in many different cottages but this is the one we will definitely use again.
- Mr Coleman, June 2017Mrs Barber “We stayed here for the Spring Bank Holiday with friends and all had the best time.”
The property has been beautifully finished and it's location was perfect for enjoying the Moors and the Coast. We can not recommend the Tillers Cottage highly enough and hope to be back one day.. Absolutely wonderful..
