The cottage is well appointed with everything thought of from luxe towels to recycling instructions. A lovely welcome pack is thoughtfully provided too. The other tenants did not disturb us at all, and it was a perfect place for a well need break. Highly recommended - we plan to return!

  • "A charming and comfortable cottage with plenty of character."

Helen is very pleasant and helpful, and even let me keep one of her tea-towels which I somehow managed to bring home with me! Well-placed to visit the stunning cliffs, beaches and villages on the coast, or go inland to explore the moors, dales and forests. Easy to get to Whitby, or to visit the market town of Guisborough with its Priory and landmark viewpoints such as Highcliffe or Hanging Stone in Guisborough Forest. The parking is fine, your car is outside the bedroom window and behind a farm gate, so nice and secure.

  • "We all had a great holiday in this lovely cottage."

We had a lovely greeting and were shown where everything was. The Stable was lovely and warm and in a good position for visits to a lot of places. We had a lovely day on Bempton Cliffs watching the birds trying to land in the strong winds. Visited Whitby and had Fish and Chips then went back to the Stable on the first night. The dog was made a fuss of and one morning on the lawn we saw a Mole running along the wall. I had to pull on the lead to stop her running for it. I would recommend this cottage to anyone. My son enjoyed his bedroom upstairs and we had a lovely bedroom downstairs. Everything you could want was in the cottage and if you needed anything else you only had to ask. Many thanks for a great time.

  • "Our accommodation at The Stable was lovely, very comfortable, clean and all COVID rules are followed."

The welcome food pack was very generous and really appreciated. Our dog loved the secure large back garden to run and play in. The cottage owner is very friendly and welcoming, she showed us around the cottage and explained clearly everything we needed to know. The cottage is within an easy drive of the coast and surrounding areas. We had a wonderful holiday here.

  • "Helen, the owner, welcomed us and was very friendly and helpful."

She showed us around the cottage and left a nice welcoming food pack. The cottage was spotlessly clean and COVID safe and very cosy and comfortable. The back garden gives lovely views towards the coast and Whitby. It is situated in a good position for visiting the coastal towns of Staithes, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay, and also the villages in the North York’s Moors. It is just 4 minutes drive to Whitby park and ride which we used and which provided a first class service. We had a lovely week despite the cold weather and will definitely return in the future.

Great host, Just a pity there is no view out in the back garden, just a high hill, Parking area needs attention,ie not much room. Alongside a very busy road, noise if you sat in the garden, but once in cottage nothing. Very comfortable. Would recommend, we hated to leave, Will be back soon.

Stairs in cottage quite steep so any one with mobility problems would struggle getting up & down. Right on a main busy road. To access garden outside back door you had to go up half dozen steps, again problem for people with mobility problems. The owners were lovely & helpful.

Really homely place. The bedrooms were amazing. Fantastic garden's and what a way to wake up in the morning and stand on the back garden and look at the sea view. Couldn't fault the accommodation in any way, great location, 10 mins by car into Whitby. Its a real credit to the owners who are obviously very proud of the place, and why wouldn't they be. Thank you for making ours and the boys stay very enjoyable, we will most definitely be coming back. We will be reccomending this place to everyone that will listen x

It was ideal that we had a grassed area where we could play ball with our dog. The cottage was clean and tidy and nicely furnished. The bed was comfy. A nice touch was the welcome pack, which included a bottle of wine, flowers and a tiger loaf, my favourite. The area is lovely, we enjoyed a drive across the moors, a steam train ride to Pickering, a trip to Whitby and the time spent in Robin Hood's Bay, where our dog made lots of friends. We would certainly return to The Stables again. Many thanks.
