"Ideal for a quiet retreat in a small friendly village that’s not too far away from a number of interesting places."
Ideal for doggy walkers. Facilities in cottage good but the functional kitchen is getting to need a make over. Has a massive comfy bed. Could do with a DVD player for rainy days but has sky tv and 30 meg internet.

"The pretty little cottage is in a wonderfully quiet area with a cosy and welcoming (yet contemporary) feel."
It has a very comfortable reclining sofa, modern bathroom, decent speed broadband and a super king size bed in one of the largest bedrooms we've ever had in a holiday cottage.
This property is all on one level and the driveway is close to the front door for easy packing and unpacking of the car. The kitchen is small but has everything you need and the tiled floor in the bathroom is quite cold underfoot - so don't forget your slippers.

The bed is fantastic - the most comfortable we've ever slept in. However the kitchen is a little tired and needs updating. Also having soap already in the bathroom on arrival is an absolute must have... luckily we were going out anyway so wasn't an issue to buy some but could be a problem for others.

"We had a wonderful week in this delightful cottage, it provided everything we needed plus more."
It was very clean, you wouldn’t know it was dog friendly! The extra little touches were lovely, even a welcome pack for our dog. The cottage is on a very quiet country lane, ideal for dog walks and everyone in the village we met whilst out were so friendly. It was just a shame the local pub hadn’t started serving food again after the lockdown but they served a decent pint, so not all was lost. So all in all if you’re looking for a beautiful cottage in quiet surroundings then this is the one for you. I’d definitely recommend it, we had a fantastic, relaxing week.

"Very comfy clean cottage, sofa & bed lovely."
Only 2 of everything re plates mugs knives forks etc requested more which the lady was more than happy to supply, re an 8 place setting dishwasher is there, & as previous comments would be better if a washer/dryer was there instead. The outside area is small facing a few bungalows & field but ok for a coffee & a read. The only pub opened at 5pm & were not doing any food at all, also while we were there not open on the Sunday or Monday. However loads of other pubs not far but because of COVID best to book. Best pub we found was in Beverly the Tiger Inn, very dog friendly, Filey beach was lovely.

"Slight issue upon arrival as the owners had actually cancelled the booking but Sykes had failed to inform me."
However thankfully as they lived next door after a quick discussion it was agreed that I could stay.
The property was lovely and cosy and just what I was looking for. It had everything I needed for a couple of nights away. The WiFi, sky tv and log burner were extra home comforts and the chocolate and sweet box upon arrival was an extra treat.
I had my dog with me who for some reason had a real issue with crossing the threshold from the bedroom to the living area. She was literally too spooked to stand on the floor directly in front of the bedroom door.
The only real negative was not having anywhere to let my dog out for a wee on an evening. I had to take her out on her lead which was a bit of a pain. It would be helpful if this was made clear on the website.
Overall a very pleasant stay at a property which I would absolutely recommend.

"We had a wonderful stay; the cottage was just beautiful and was spotlessly clean."
The bed was gloriously big and comfortable and my husband it still missing the recliner couch! It was in a lovely, quiet area and the people in the village were very friendly. The owner had left lots of little touches (milk in the fridge, selection of teas/coffee and biscuits and fresh flowers which was much appreciated).
You definitely need a car to get about and to get to main supermarkets so I would suggest you come prepared. The bushes outside the door tended to attract a lot of flies which was a bit annoying as it meant we couldn't keep the windows open so perhaps they need a rethink?
All in all it was a restful, comfortable stay and I would 100% return to/recommend this property.

Close to York City (about 12 miles) which is a must to visit, would definitely book again but without the dog so we can visit more places as were limited what we could go into with the dog.
Sky tv was a added bonus with a tv in bedroom also, really big comfy bed was great.
Met the owners on arrival who were lovely and friendly and left you to enjoy your holiday although were next door or on the end of the phone if you needed anything, they'd supplied everything we needed so didn't need to bother them.

"We had a really good week."
The property was very pleasant, very clean, and had everything needed for a weeks stay in a rural and quiet location. We met the owner on one occasion who was really nice and very helpful. Tea, coffee and milk we really good to find on arrival, with a lovely bunch of sunflowers as well was a nice added extra. The dishwasher is an added bonus and to be honest is better than a washing machine which has been mentioned previously.
Just a couple of points. 1 the picture shows an open aspect and it now has a fence, this is better as the side of the cottage is more excluded. 2.The only niggle I would have is the bath / shower needs some grab rails as we both found it a bit tricky to get out of as neither of us are very tall and this could also be a problem for anyone who has mobility issues, apart from that a great place to stay.
The property is really rural and the nearest shop is a couple of miles away, or in one of the nearby villages. The nearest local pub serves food but not all the time, but there are several places to eat out as we did most of the time.
We would really suggest a visit to the local heather farm. the food is brilliant and the place itself if very good for all ages.
On the whole a great place for a quiet break, in a very sweet, pleasant cottage.

"We had a wonderful time at Inglewood Cottage and would most definitely return."
We were provided with a lovely basket of Tea,Coffee and yummy flapjacks on arrival The facilities were very good and very comfortable, especially the super king sized bed. There is no washing machine but owner did offer to put a wash or two through for us but like many I prefer to wash my own clothes. Clothes line, Iron etc were provided so able to hand wash a few things through. So not too much of an issue in the summer.
The Cottage is a little far away from amenities and does have a pub which only has food 2 evenings a week.
Owners were very helpful and friendly. They were only next door if we had any problems.
This cottage is a real little gem and pleased we found it. We look forward to returning.
