The village itself has a store and local inn, whilst along the road are open fields and grassland.

Four miles from this Elvington cottage is the Grimston Bar Park and Ride which takes you into the centre of York.

From the medieval walls, the impressive York Minster and Elizabethan architecture to the famous Shambles, guests will be delighted with this beautiful city.

A must is a visit to the Jorvik Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum, whilst the wide array of restaurants, cafes and pubs will keep you spoilt for choice, and for a special treat, be sure to visit Bettys tea rooms!

Near to this Elvington cottage are the Yorkshire Air Museum and the Lower Derwent Valley National Nature Reserve, whilst Burnby Hall Gardens lie near to the market town of Pocklington.

York 7 miles

The attractive village of Elvington lies just 7 miles from the centre of the city of York. Surrounded by open fields and countryside, this popular village has an excellent store and local pub, adjacent to the village hall which houses local activities. This friendly village has a good community feel and hosts various annual exhibitions. Close to the village is the Elvington Air Museum, well worth a visit, where there is an annual air show, including the Red Arrows and other famous aircraft. Just four miles from Elvington is the Grimston Bar park and ride, that takes you into the beautiful walled city of York with its numerous attractions, including its majestic Minster, the National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Viking Centre. From Elvington there are good road links to both the coast, the Yorkshire Wolds and the North York Moors National Park, enabling it to provide an excellent touring base in a lovely part of the country.
